A luxury showcase is judged on the things that are hardest to do: a painted panel made for the piece, lighting built into the carcass rather than added to it, glazing that runs round the ends, and carving cut from solid timber.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, finished in ivory with gilded carving. A hand painted scene sits in the broken pediment above the cornice; painted panels repeat at a smaller scale on the drawer fronts.

Every showcase is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, bay count, shelf spacing, drawer count, painted subject, lighting and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

A painting set into the top of a cabinet is not composed the way a picture on a wall is composed, because it will never be seen from in front of it.

The pediment on this showcase sits well above eye level. Anyone looking at it is looking up, and looking up does something specific to a painted panel: the whole image appears to slide upward and away. A scene composed centrally, the way it would be on an easel, ends up reading as though its subject is escaping over the top edge, with an odd expanse of empty ground beneath.

So the artist composes low. The figures and the weight of the scene are placed towards the bottom of the panel, with more space left above them than below. Held in the hand the painting looks unbalanced - bottom-heavy, awkwardly cropped at its feet.

Fitted into the pediment and seen from a few paces back, it settles exactly into the middle of its frame.

Our master Indian artisans paint the panel after the cabinet is standing, so it can be offered up, viewed from the floor, and adjusted. A picture for furniture is made for one viewpoint, and it is the only one that matters.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors, drawers and frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Configuration: four glazed bays with tall arched centre doors and curved glazed ends; two drawers in the centre base; broken pediment above the cornice carrying a hand painted panel.

Painting: composed low in its panel for viewing from below, painted after the carcass is standing and offered up before completion.

Lighting: built into the head, wiring run inside the carcass; glass shelves throughout so light reaches the base.

Carving and finish: gilded carved cornice, corner brackets and pediment surround, carved paw feet; ivory ground with a pale interior to reflect the lighting, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The pediment stands above the cornice and carries the painted panel, which makes it both the most projecting and the most valuable element on the cabinet. It is protected first, with shaped support on both faces so it cannot rock, and a clean smooth barrier laid directly over the painting.

Glass shelves travel out, laid flat, interleaved and edge-guarded. Glazed doors are secured closed, braced and protected across each pane; curved end panes stay in their housings under shaped formers.

Drawers are secured shut and blocked, with their painted panels covered by the same smooth barrier.

Lighting is fitted and secured before packing, with wiring restrained inside the carcass.

A soft non-abrasive layer goes against the ivory ground and gilding, and the carved brackets and paw feet each receive shaped protection.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning, corner protection and strapping. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every showcase is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf and drawer layout, the painted subject, the lighting arrangement and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Lighting and painting both have to be agreed before the carcass is built.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture, painted panels and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the cabinet is levelled, the pediment fitted, the shelves installed and the lighting tested before the team leaves.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the showcase reaches you - the frame, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing housings, the shelf supports, the drawer runners, the lighting housings and wiring runs, and the cornice and pediment joints.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, drawers, back and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. The painted panels are covered as part of the finish: they lie beneath the protective coats rather than on top of them, and if one is ever damaged it is repainted by hand in the same sequence. Glazed door alignment and drawer running are covered too. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.
