An antique style showcase in solid teak, hand-carved and hand-painted, with a glazed display section over a cupboard base. It suits a dining or drawing room where the furniture is meant to look as if it has always been there.

The display section runs four bays wide. The two centre doors are flat and shaped at the head; the two end bays curve forward with shaped glass, so the cabinet turns into the room at both sides. Glass shelves run through all four bays.

The base gives you a long drawer immediately under the display for flatware and linen, cupboards below it, and a further cupboard inside each curved end. Every lower door is framed with carving and carries a painted spray at its centre.

Gold is used sparingly and only on raised work - the shell crest, the panel borders, the base rail - so the cream ground stays the dominant colour.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Look along the top of this showcase and the moulding never breaks. That is deliberate, and it is the hardest thing on the piece.

The simple way to build a top edge like this would be to make it in sections - a length for the crest, a length for each flat run, a short piece around each curve - and mitre them together. It works, but every mitre puts a joint line across the moulding, and a shadow line that stops and restarts reads as an assembly of parts.

Instead the cornice here is worked as a continuous run. Where it has to turn the curved ends, the back of the moulding is kerfed - sawn part way through at close intervals - so the timber will bend to the radius while its face stays whole. The kerfs are on the hidden side and vanish once the moulding is fixed and filled behind.

The result is one unbroken shadow line travelling from the crest, down the steps, along the flats and around both bows. Nothing interrupts it, which is what makes the outline read as a single drawn shape.

Material: solid teak in the carcass, door frames, drawer box, cornice, base rail and feet.

Display section: four glazed bays - two shaped-head centre doors and two curved end bays with shaped glass - with glass shelves throughout.

Base section: full-width drawer under the display, cupboards beneath, and a cupboard within each curved end.

Cornice: continuous run moulding, kerfed on the reverse to follow the curves without a break in the face.

Carving: shell crest, shaped panel borders, carved capitals to the dividing pilasters and a shaped carved base rail.

Finish: cream ground with hand-applied gold on raised carving, and hand-painted floral sprays within the lower door panels.

Made to order: width, height, depth, bay count, drawer and cupboard layout and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

This cabinet has three different vulnerable surfaces and each is handled separately.

The painted lower panels get acid-free tissue directly against the paint, then foam sheet, then bubble wrap - nothing textured is ever allowed to sit on the flowers.

The shaped end glass is taped across the face and bedded in foam cut to its own curve, crated apart from the cabinet so it carries no load. The flat centre doors are unhung and crated flat with foam between them.

The continuous cornice and the shell crest project further than anything else on the piece, so both are given foam blocks moulded around their profile and a rigid outer board over the top.

Both sections travel in hardwood crates with corner protection at every arris and orientation and lift points marked. Shelves and hardware are packed in a labelled box of their own.

Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Free delivery anywhere in India, with guaranteed dent-free arrival. No distance charge, no size surcharge, no handling fee.

Once your dimensions are confirmed in writing, production begins and we photograph your actual showcase as it progresses - carcass, cornice run, carving, cream finish, gilding, and the painted panels once complete.

The display section and the base travel separately, which makes the approach far simpler than a single-piece cabinet. On site, our team sets and levels the base first, then places the display section onto it, then hangs the doors, fits the shaped end panes and installs the glass shelves.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch so the route can be planned. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

Twenty years of warranty cover the solid teak frame and joinery: the carcass of both sections, the door frames, the drawer box, the pilasters and every joint between them.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the piece and never lapses. Teak's own oils protect it from the inside, and our warranty backs that for as long as you own the showcase.

Glass, shaped end panes, shelves, drawer runners and hardware are all covered against manufacturing defect. The curved glass is formed to your own cabinet and its shape is kept on record, so a replacement will fit precisely even years later.

The cream finish, the gold work and the painted panels are applied by hand and logged against your order number, which means any future retouch can be matched rather than guessed at. Contact us and we will arrange it.
