A French style showcase in solid teak, hand-made and hand-painted, finished in cream with gold outlining and standing on tall cabriole legs.

The display section is glazed on the front and both ends, with two shaped doors and glass shelves inside, so light passes through the cabinet from three directions.

Inside the back panel is painted by hand with a soft floral pattern in tones close to the ground colour, which gives depth behind the shelves without drawing attention from what is on them.

Below, the base rail runs in a serpentine curve with a small carved motif at its centre, and the legs sweep out and down in a long cabriole, gilded along their fronts.

Everything about the proportions is chosen to keep the piece light - a shallow case, slim frames, tall legs and a pale finish - which is what makes this style work in a smaller room as well as a large one.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The floral pattern painted inside this cabinet is the only decoration on the piece our painter is asked to hold back on, and holding back is harder than going further.

Everything a painter is trained to do says make the pattern read: give it definition, strengthen the tone, let the colours carry. Do that on the inside back of a display cabinet and the result is a beautiful panel with your porcelain lost against it. The pattern and the objects fight, and the objects lose, because the pattern covers the whole surface and they do not.

So this back is painted deliberately quiet - the design kept close in tone to the cream ground, the colours held back, the edges softened rather than defined. It is meant to be noticed second, not first.

The way it is judged is simple and physical. Real plates and cups are stood on the shelves while the panel is being painted, and the painter steps back and looks at the cabinet as a whole. If the eye goes to the pattern before the porcelain, the tone comes down again.

What you should see, standing in the room, is a cabinet with something soft behind the shelves - and only later realise it is painted at all.

Material: solid teak in the carcass, door frames, base rail and legs.

Glazing: two shaped glazed doors to the front, glazed panels to both ends.

Interior: glass shelves on concealed supports, hand-painted floral back panel.

Base: serpentine shaped rail with a carved centre motif.

Legs: tall hand-shaped cabriole legs, gilded along the front.

Finish: cream ground with gold applied by hand to panel outlines, base rail and legs.

Hardware: keyed door catches with tassel pulls.

Made to order: height, width, depth, shelf count and spacing, painted design and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Long slender legs are the most vulnerable part of this piece by a distance, so each one is detached where the design allows, sleeved in foam along its full length and boxed with extra blocking at the ankle, which is where a knock does damage.

The doors are unhung and crated flat, glass taped across the face and foam-sleeved apart from the shaped frames. The glazed end panels travel the same way.

The painted back panel is protected with acid-free tissue directly against the paint before any foam goes near it.

The carcass is wrapped tissue-first over the cream and gold, then foam sheet, then bubble wrap, with additional padding along the gilded panel outlines where the raised bead is exposed.

Glass shelves ship in a slotted box with dividers, and all crates are hardwood with corner protection and orientation markings. Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with dent-free arrival guaranteed. No distance charge, no size charge, no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing. We photograph your actual showcase as it goes - the carcass, the four legs worked as a set, the cream and gold finish, and the painted back panel with pieces stood on the shelves so you can see how it sits behind them.

On site, our team assembles the cabinet onto its legs and levels it in both directions first, then fits the end panels, hangs the doors and installs the glass shelves.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch so the route can be planned. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty. On a cabinet raised this high on cabriole legs, the leg joints carry the whole piece, so they are built to be guaranteed for that long along with the carcass, the door frames and the base rail.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the showcase and never expires. Teak's own oils are its first protection, and our warranty is the second.

Glass, end panels, shelves, supports and hardware are covered against manufacturing defect.

The cream finish, the gold outlining and the painted back panel are all applied by hand and recorded against your order, so any later retouch is matched to what was actually used on your cabinet. Contact us with your order number and we will arrange it.
