A tall golden display cabinet in solid teak, hand-carved and gilded throughout, with an arched centre and glazed sides.

The whole upper structure is display. Glazed doors open at the front, the ends are glazed as well, and glass shelves carry through the interior so nothing is left in shadow.

The arch over the centre bay lifts the middle of the cabinet above the flanking sections, and the pierced crest sits over it. The stepped outline that creates is what gives the piece its height and its silhouette.

At the base, carved scrollwork runs along the shaped rail and the cabinet finishes on small carved feet.

Because it is gilded rather than painted, the cabinet changes through the day - bright where light falls directly, deep where it does not - which is why the carving is set out to catch light on its raised faces and hold shadow in its hollows.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

On a cabinet gilded all over, the gilder does something a painter never has to: he varies how the gold is finished from one part to the next, so the form can still be read.

Gold laid uniformly across an entire piece flattens it. Every surface returns light in the same way, and the eye loses the edges - a carved scroll and the flat panel beside it become one shining mass. There is no colour available to separate them, because everything is the same colour.

So the finishing is varied instead. Raised faces - the crest of a scroll, the top of a moulding, the arch head where the eye first lands - are burnished down to a hard, near-mirror brightness. The grounds behind them, the hollows of the carving and the recessed panels are left matt, so they hold light softly rather than throwing it back.

The result is a single colour that still has depth, because two different surfaces are doing two different jobs. Bring a lamp near it and the burnished lines pick out the shape of the cabinet while the matt areas recede.

All of that is decided at the bench, piece by piece, before anything is assembled.

Material: solid teak in the carcass, corner stems, door frames, arch, crest, base rail and feet.

Layout: arched centre bay with glazed doors, flanking glazed bays stepping down on either side, glazed ends.

Interior: glass shelves on concealed supports, pale finished back.

Carving: pierced crest over the arch, carved corner stems, foliate work around the arch head, scrolled base rail and carved feet.

Finish: gilded throughout, with raised faces burnished bright and grounds and hollows left matt so the form reads.

Made to order: height, width, depth, bay count, shelf count and spacing, and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Gilding marks under anything abrasive, and burnished gold shows a scuff even more readily than matt, so nothing but acid-free tissue ever touches the surface of this cabinet.

Tissue goes on first over every gilded face, then foam sheet, then bubble wrap.

The pierced crest is supported with foam pressed into each opening so the carving is braced from behind, and boxed on its own. The carved feet and the projecting arch mouldings are given individual foam blocking.

Doors are unhung and crated flat, glass taped across the face and foam-sleeved apart from the frames. The glazed end panels travel the same way, and glass shelves ship in a slotted box with dividers.

Everything goes into hardwood crates with corner protection at every arris and clear orientation and lift markings.

Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with dent-free arrival guaranteed. No distance charge, no size charge, no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing. We photograph your actual cabinet through the build - carcass, carving, the gilding in progress and the finished piece under raking light so you can see the burnished and matt areas working.

On site, our team places and levels the cabinet first, then fits the glazed end panels, hangs the doors and installs the glass shelves, so no glass carries load until the piece is standing where it will stay.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths before dispatch so the route can be planned in advance. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the carcass, the corner stems, the door frames, the arch, the base structure and every joint between them.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the cabinet and never expires. Teak's own oils are its first defence and our warranty is what stands behind them.

Glass, side panels, shelves, supports and hardware are covered against manufacturing defect.

The gilding is applied by hand, and the burnishing pattern - which areas are bright and which are matt - is recorded against your order alongside the materials used. That means a later retouch is not simply re-gilded but re-finished the same way, so it matches the surface around it. Contact us with your order number and we will arrange it.
