A white showcase suits a room that already has colour in it - the pale finish keeps a large glazed cabinet from competing with what is displayed inside it, which is the whole point of a showcase.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. Three glazed bays, with the ends curved forward, sit above a closed base with shaped panels and a deep pierced apron.

Curving the end bays does two things: it removes the hard corners, and it turns the glass towards anyone approaching from the side.

Every showcase is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, bay count, shelf spacing, base interior, lighting and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

Here is a mistake that only reveals itself on the day of delivery: a shelf that will not go in.

The inside of a glazed bay is wider than the door opening in front of it, because the door has stiles down each side and the carcass has posts. Make a shelf to the full internal width - which is the obvious thing to do, since that is the space it has to fill - and it is now wider than the hole it has to pass through. It cannot be angled in either, because it is a rigid sheet of glass and the opening is only so tall.

The rule our master Indian artisans work to is simple: every shelf is dimensioned so that it can pass, on the diagonal, through the largest opening it will live behind. That number is worked out before the shelf is cut, not after the cabinet is glued up.

The consequence is that a shelf in a multi-bay cabinet is very slightly narrower than the bay, and the small gap is taken up by the shelf supports.

It sounds trivial. It is the difference between a cabinet you can restock, re-shelf and clean for forty years, and one where a broken shelf means dismantling a door.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Configuration: three glazed bays with curved glazed end bays and a glazed centre pair; closed panelled base beneath; deep pierced apron.

Interior: glass shelves, each dimensioned to pass through its own door opening on the diagonal; spacing to your requirement; interior lighting available.

Carving: pierced crest above the cornice, carved scrolls framing the centre base panel, deep pierced openwork apron, carved feet.

Finish: white ground with the carving picked out in ivory-gold, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The pierced apron is the most exposed element on this cabinet - openwork, projecting, and at the height a crate is most likely to be struck. It receives its own shaped protection with clearance beneath and in front before anything else is wrapped.

Glass shelves travel out of the cabinet, laid flat, interleaved and edge-guarded.

The curved end panes stay in their housings, secured, and are protected by shaped formers supporting each curve across its full face.

The glazed doors are secured closed, braced and protected across each pane.

A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the white ground first, since a pale finish shows a rub immediately, and the pierced crest and carved feet receive individual protection.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection and strapping. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every showcase is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf layout and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Where access requires it, the cabinet is built to separate into sections that assemble in the room.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the cabinet is levelled before the shelves are fitted.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the showcase reaches you - the frame, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing housings, the shelf supports, the cornice and crest joints, the pierced apron and the carved feet.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, base panels, back and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Glazed door alignment is covered, and replacement shelves are supplied to the original dimensions - which, because each was sized to pass through its opening, means a new shelf goes in without dismantling anything. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.
