This is a wooden centre table in solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans and made to order in any size you need. It is designed to sit at the centre of a sofa set, low enough to reach from a seated position and heavy enough to hold its place in a large room.

The construction is entirely solid teak - no veneer, no engineered board, no applied mouldings. The rope edge around the top, the pierced apron and the scroll legs are all cut from solid stock by hand. The canted corners keep the outline softer than a plain square, which matters on a piece people walk past constantly.

Because it is made to order you set the dimensions rather than choosing from stock sizes, which is what lets a centre table sit correctly against your own sofa height. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. Behind it stand a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The rope moulding around the top of this table has to turn eight corners, and at each one the twist has to keep going in the same direction.

A rope moulding is a spiral, and a spiral has a handedness. Cut a length of rope moulding, mitre it at a corner and join it to the next length, and unless the two are set out from the same starting point the twist will jump - one strand will meet a hollow instead of another strand, and the rope will appear to reverse at the joint. On a plain square top that happens four times. Here, with canted corners, it happens eight.

So the moulding is not cut into eight pieces and fitted. The carver sets out the whole run first, marks every corner position on the blank, and calculates where each twist must fall so that after each mitre the pattern continues. The spacing is adjusted very slightly on each face to make the turns land correctly - the same trick a mason uses when running a moulding around a room.

Then it is cut by hand, one strand at a time, all the way round. Run a finger along it and the rope never stutters. That continuity is the whole job, and it is why it takes a day rather than an hour.

Material: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. No veneer, plywood or engineered board anywhere in the piece.

Top: square with canted corners, edged with a continuous carved rope moulding.

Apron: pierced and carved scrolling foliage on all four faces.

Legs: heavy carved acanthus scroll legs, outward curling, worked from solid stock.

Joinery: traditional joinery at every junction.

Finish: deep warm hand polish. Lighter or darker tones can be matched, and gilded highlights can be added on the apron.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The legs on this table curl outward beyond the line of the top, which makes them the first thing to meet a doorframe - so they are packed first and most heavily.

Each scroll leg gets a shaped foam collar around its outer curve and its foot. The rope moulding around the top is covered with a smooth soft layer laid along its length rather than folded, because a crease pressed into a fine moulding for days in transit can leave a mark. The pierced apron gets foam fitted into its voids so the carved bridges cannot flex, with a continuous strip along all four faces.

Corrugated panels then build a rigid shell around the table, and the top is given an extra rigid panel across its face since it is the surface most likely to take a knock from above. The outer carton is edge-reinforced so stacked weight in transit is carried by the packaging rather than the frame. Everything lifts away by hand, no blades needed near the polish.

Delivery is free anywhere in India. There is no zone pricing, no distance surcharge and no freight line added at checkout - the table costs the same delivered to Chennai as to Chandigarh.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. It leaves the workshop in multi-layer protective packaging, travels with handlers briefed on carved furniture, and is checked at each transfer point. If anything is wrong when you open it, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because every table is made to order, production begins after your size, finish and carving details are confirmed in writing. We share a realistic timeline at that point and keep you updated as the table moves through carving and polishing, then send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window so you can plan the day rather than wait for a call.

The solid teak and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty. On a centre table that covers the top and its moulded edge, the apron rails, the joints where the legs meet them, and the legs themselves. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it, with no end date at all. Teak carries natural oils that termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so we stand behind the timber for as long as you own the table.

A centre table takes more casual abuse than almost anything else in a living room - feet on the rails, weight on the corners, things set down heavily - which is exactly what a long frame warranty is written for. It holds because the table is made from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who build every piece we sell, from timber we season ourselves. Registration is automatic with your order; your order number is all a claim ever needs.
