This is a french centre table in hand-carved solid teak, made to order in the size you need. It combines the two things people most often want from a centre table and rarely get together - a decorative carved surface, and somewhere to put things away.

Master Indian artisans carve it by hand from seasoned solid teak. The top relief is recessed below its rim so the glass never touches the carving, the serpentine outline is cut from solid stock rather than bent, and the apron carving is worked across the drawer and its surrounding rails as one continuous composition.

Every dimension and the drawer layout are yours to set. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

Look at the front of this table and the carving runs straight across the drawer as if the drawer were not there. That is only possible because of when the carving was done.

The obvious way to build it is to carve the drawer front on the bench, carve the rails around it separately, and assemble. It never quite works. Each piece is carved in its own position on its own bench, so the leaves meet the joint line at slightly different angles and heights, and the pattern jumps where the drawer starts. On a plain drawer nobody notices a millimetre; on a continuous carved run it reads as a break.

So the drawer is made and fitted first, in its opening, closed, with the gaps set exactly as they will be forever. Only then is the apron drawn out across the whole front - over rails and drawer alike - and only then does the carver begin. Every cut crosses the gaps as it goes.

The drawer is opened for the first time when the carving is finished. From that moment the pattern is committed: it lines up in one position only, which is the position it was carved in.

Material: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. No veneer, plywood or engineered board.

Top: recessed panel of floral relief under a shaped glass sheet resting on the moulded rim.

Apron: continuous carved shells, roses and scrolling leaf around all four serpentine sides.

Drawer: set into one long side, carved in situ so the apron pattern crosses it unbroken. Layout and number set by you.

Legs: carved cabriole legs shaped from solid blanks, finishing in scrolled feet.

Finish: warm mid-brown hand polish. Lighter or darker tones can be matched, and gilded highlights can be added.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The carved top cannot be repaired if it is damaged, so it is protected first: a soft non-abrasive layer laid over the relief without pressing into it, then a rigid panel spanning the moulded rim so nothing bears on the carving.

The drawer travels closed, padded in its opening and held with a soft restraint - important here, since a drawer sliding open in transit would strike its own carved front against the rails beside it.

The apron gets a continuous foam strip around all four serpentine faces, and the cabriole knees and scrolled feet get individual collars. The glass travels in its own carton, edge-protected and flat between rigid boards. Corrugated panels build a rigid shell, the base is blocked and braced, and both outer cartons are edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price, glass and table together - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no fragile surcharge. The same cost delivered to Nashik as to Nellore.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. Both cartons leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on relief carving and glass, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size, drawer layout and finish are confirmed in writing. Fitting the drawer before carving adds a stage to the sequence, and a carved top takes considerably longer than a plain one, so we give you a realistic timeline and a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the top panel and its frame, the apron rails, the drawer box and its runners, the leg joints and the legs. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

The drawer matters more here than on most furniture, because its carving only aligns in one position - so the runners and the box have to keep it closing exactly where it closed on the day it was made. Teak's stability is what allows that, and the warranty covers the drawer construction along with everything else. All of it is built in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
