This is a coffee table in hand-carved solid teak with a cream and gold finish, made to order in the size you need. Its deep body gives it presence at low level, which suits a room with large seating - a slim-framed table would disappear in front of a heavy sofa set.

Master Indian artisans build and carve it by hand from seasoned solid teak. The pierced gold ornament is carved as separate openwork panels, finished, and then fixed to the cream field, so the two finishes meet at a physical edge rather than a painted line.

Every dimension and both finish tones are yours to set. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. Behind it stand a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The gold ornament on this table is not painted onto the cream. It is a separate piece of carved wood, made on its own and fixed on afterwards - and that solves a problem that has no good solution otherwise.

Where two finishes meet on a flat surface, the line between them has to be cut by hand, and it is only ever as good as the steadiest hand on the day. Under close light, a painted boundary always shows slight waver, and on a curve it shows more. Worse, gold laid over a cream ground will bleed into it if the ground is not perfectly sealed, leaving a faint yellow halo along the edge.

Carving the ornament separately removes the boundary entirely. Each cartouche is cut as an openwork panel, gilded on its own bench where every edge is a real edge, and only then pinned to the finished cream field. The two colours never share a surface, so there is no line to waver and nothing to bleed.

It also means the ornament stands slightly proud, casting its own shadow - which is why it reads as metal applied to a surface rather than a pattern drawn on one.

Structure: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Top: marbled panel inside a gold-lined moulded border.

Body: deep shaped body in a cream hand finish.

Ornament: pierced openwork cartouches, fluted corner pilasters and a fine pierced base band, carved separately, gilded and fixed on.

Feet: four gilded scroll feet.

Finish: hand-applied cream with gilded applied ornament. Both tones are set by you, and a single-tone finish is available.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

Applied openwork is the most exposed thing on this table - it stands proud of the body on every face and has voids that a careless wrap would catch on.

Foam is fitted into the larger openings of each cartouche so the pierced work cannot flex, and a foam pad covers each one outward of that. The pierced base band gets a continuous strip right around the body, and the gilded scroll feet get deep collars.

A cream finish marks more readily than a dark one, so a soft non-abrasive layer goes over every surface first, laid smoothly with no folds. A rigid panel is fitted over the top, bearing on the gold-lined border rather than the marbled field. Corrugated panels build a rigid shell, the base is blocked and braced, and the outer carton is edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no freight line at checkout. The table costs the same delivered to Salem as to Sonipat.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. It leaves in multi-layer protective packaging, travels with handlers briefed on painted and gilded finishes, and is checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open it, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size and finish tones are confirmed in writing. Carving, gilding and fitting the applied ornament is a separate stage of its own, so we give you a realistic timeline rather than an optimistic one, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak structure and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the shaped body, the top frame, the corner pilasters and the joints where the scroll feet meet the base. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

The applied ornament is fixed mechanically as well as glued, which is why it stays put on a piece that will be knocked by feet and cleaned around for decades. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
