This is a solid wood centre table in hand-carved teak, made to order in the size you need. Trestle ends are the practical part of the design - with nothing at the corners, seating can be pulled in close on all four sides and there is no leg for feet to find under the table.

Master Indian artisans build and carve it by hand from seasoned solid teak. Each trestle end is carved from thick solid stock, the stretcher between them is shaped and carved as one long member, and the gadrooned band under the top is cut lobe by lobe.

Every dimension is yours to set. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. Behind it stand a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

A trestle table is held together by one member, and how that member is fitted decides whether the table is still tight in twenty years.

The two carved ends do all the standing; the stretcher between them does all the holding. It stops the ends splaying outward under load and stops the whole table racking when it is pushed sideways. If the stretcher joint ever slackens, the table does not just wobble - it starts to work itself apart, because every movement loosens the joint a little further.

Glue alone is not the answer over that timescale, because the stretcher is long and the timber it joins into is moving fractionally with the seasons. So the joint is made mechanical: the stretcher passes into each end and is locked with a wedge driven from the outside, in the traditional way.

The advantage is that it can be tightened. If it were ever to slacken after decades, the wedge is driven a little further and the table is tight again - no dismantling, no re-gluing. It is the oldest fixed-and-tightenable joint in furniture, and there is still nothing better for a trestle.

Material: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. No veneer, plywood or engineered board.

Top: plain solid teak with a moulded edge over a carved gadrooned band.

Apron: deep foliate carving on all four sides.

Ends: carved scroll trestle ends, each worked from thick solid stock.

Stretcher: long shaped and carved stretcher with a central rosette, wedged into each trestle end.

Finish: deep warm hand polish. Lighter or darker tones can be matched, and gilded highlights can be added.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The scrolls at the tops and feet of the trestle ends project furthest on this table, and the ones at floor level meet doorframes first - so both get deep shaped foam collars.

The carved stretcher is wrapped along its full length with its central rosette collared separately, and the gadrooned band under the top is covered with a continuous foam strip, since one crushed lobe in a repeating run stands out immediately.

The deep apron carving gets a continuous strip on all four faces so pressure is spread rather than landing on the raised leaves. A soft non-abrasive layer covers the polish throughout and a rigid panel goes over the top. Corrugated panels build a rigid shell, the base is blocked and braced, and the outer carton is edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no freight line at checkout. The table costs the same delivered to Hubli as to Haldia.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. It leaves in multi-layer protective packaging, travels with handlers briefed on deep carved furniture, and is checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open it, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size and finish are confirmed in writing. We share a realistic timeline at that point, keep you updated as the table moves through carving and polishing, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window so you can plan the day rather than wait for a call.

The solid teak and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the top and its frame, the carved apron, the trestle ends and the wedged stretcher joints. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

On a trestle table the stretcher joints are the whole structure, which is why they are wedged rather than merely glued - and why a twenty-year term is realistic rather than optimistic. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
