This is a marble coffee table in hand-carved solid teak, made to order in the size you need. Black marble is the most practical top a low table can have - it takes cups, spills and daily use without marking, and it hides dust between cleans far better than pale stone.

Master Indian artisans carve the base by hand from seasoned solid teak. The lattice apron is pierced right through rather than carved in relief, so daylight shows past it and a heavy base reads as light, and each cartouche is carved from solid stock.

Every dimension is yours to set, along with the stone. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

Choosing a veined slab is not about finding the best-looking piece of stone. It is about which way the veins run once the top is cut.

Black marble with white veining reads beautifully when the veins run diagonally across the surface - the eye follows them into the middle of the table and out again. Turn the same slab so a strong vein lies parallel to a long edge, an inch or two in from it, and the effect changes completely: it stops looking like veining and starts looking like a crack that someone has polished over. People will ask about it for years.

So a slab is not simply cut to size from wherever it fits on the block. It is laid out first, the dominant veins are marked, and the outline of the top is positioned on the stone so those veins cross it at an angle and, ideally, run off two opposite corners rather than stopping short of an edge.

That costs offcut. It is the same discipline a tailor uses laying a pattern on striped cloth, and it is the difference between a marble top that looks chosen and one that looks cut.

Base: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Top: black veined marble, cut and polished to the shape of the base, laid out so the veining runs across the surface. Other stones can be specified.

Edge: carved gadrooned run directly beneath the stone.

Apron: pierced lattice with carved floral cartouches at the centre of each face and shells at the leg heads.

Legs: carved cabriole legs shaped from solid blanks, finishing in scrolled feet.

Finish: warm mid-brown hand polish. Lighter or darker tones can be matched, and gilded highlights can be added.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The stone travels separately from the base. A slab left sitting on a lattice apron would concentrate its weight onto the carved bridges during transit, which is precisely what they are not meant to carry while moving.

It is edge-protected all round with dense foam, faced with a soft layer, and carried flat between rigid boards - never on edge.

On the base, foam is fitted into the lattice openings so the pierced bridges cannot flex, with a continuous strip along all four faces. The carved cartouches, the gadrooned edge, the cabriole knees and the scrolled feet each get their own protection. Corrugated panels build a rigid shell, the base is blocked and braced, and both outer cartons are edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand, and the top is placed on arrival.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price, stone and base together - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no charge for the weight of the slab. The same cost delivered to Raipur as to Rajahmundry.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. Both cartons leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on stone and pierced carving, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size, stone and finish are confirmed in writing. Selecting and laying out a veined slab takes time before any cutting starts, so we give you a realistic timeline and a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak base and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the top frame, the gadrooned edge, the lattice apron rails, the leg joints and the legs. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

A pierced apron carrying a stone top is a demanding combination - the lattice has to be strong enough to be structural rather than decorative, and that is exactly what a twenty-year term stands behind. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
