This is a glass coffee table on a hand-carved solid teak base, made to order in the size you need. With no apron under the glass, you see straight through to the carved platform below - the ornament sits at the bottom of the piece rather than around its edge, which keeps the table visually light in the middle of a room.

Master Indian artisans carve the base by hand from seasoned solid teak. Each scroll support is worked from a single blank, the platform is cut to a shaped outline and polished on its face because it is seen through the glass, and the medallion at its centre is carved rather than applied.

Every dimension and the glass specification are yours to set. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

Glass does not bend to fit. That single fact governs everything about how this table is built.

The top rests on four separate points, and those four points have to lie in one plane to a tolerance far tighter than furniture normally needs. If one scroll finishes a millimetre high, the glass sits on three points and rocks on the fourth - and every time someone leans on the opposite corner, the whole load passes through those three contacts instead of four. A timber top in the same situation would flex slightly and absorb it. Glass does not: it concentrates the stress at the high point, and that is where a panel eventually fails.

So the four scroll tops are levelled together, not individually. The base is stood on a flat reference surface, a straightedge is laid across each diagonal in turn, and any high point is taken down by fractions until a straightedge sits dead on all four in every direction.

Then soft pads go on each contact - not to fill a gap, because there is none, but so the glass rests on something that yields a little rather than on bare timber. It is a quiet, unglamorous half hour at the end of the build, and it is the difference between a glass top that lasts and one that does not.

Base: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Supports: four carved scroll supports, each worked from a single blank and gilded, levelled together to a common plane.

Platform: shaped polished teak platform with a gold-edged moulding, a carved central rosette medallion and a turned centre column.

Top: plain glass panel with polished edges, resting on soft pads. Thickness and tint set by you, toughened if you prefer.

Finish: polished teak platform with gilded scrolls and mouldings. Other finish combinations are available.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The glass and the base travel separately, in cartons of their own.

The panel is edge-protected on all sides with dense foam, faced with a soft layer and carried flat between rigid boards. Glass is strong flat and weak on edge, so it never travels standing up.

On the base, each gilded scroll gets a shaped foam collar - they project outward and upward and would take any impact first - and the platform edge is protected with a continuous foam strip around its shaped outline. The polished platform face is covered smoothly, since it is seen through the glass and any mark on it shows. Corrugated panels build a rigid shell, the base is blocked and braced, and both outer cartons are edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand, and the top is placed on its pads on arrival.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price, glass and base together - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no fragile surcharge. The same cost delivered to Panipat as to Puducherry.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. Both cartons leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on glass and gilded carving, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size, glass specification and finish are confirmed in writing. We share a realistic timeline, keep you updated as the base is carved, gilded and levelled, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak base and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the platform, the four scroll supports, the centre column and every joint between them. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

The glass is a replaceable part: a new panel cut to the same size sits straight back onto the levelled supports. Keeping those supports coplanar is the base's job, and that is what the frame warranty stands behind. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
