This is a royal centre table in hand-carved solid teak with an inset marble top, made to order in the size you need. Insetting the stone rather than surface-mounting it is the more durable arrangement - the vulnerable edges of the slab are held below a timber rim, so knocks land on wood that can be repolished rather than on stone that chips.

Master Indian artisans carve the base by hand from seasoned solid teak. The gadrooned rim is cut lobe by lobe around the whole perimeter, the interlaced apron band is worked as a continuous run, and the legs are shaped from solid blanks.

Every dimension is yours to set, along with the stone. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The rebate that holds this marble is cut last, not first - and the reason is that stone slabs are never quite the thickness they are supposed to be.

A slab ordered at a given thickness will vary by a millimetre or two across its own length, and from one batch to the next. That does not matter when a top simply sits on a frame. It matters completely when the stone is dropped into a recess and is meant to finish flush with the carved rim around it. A rebate cut to the nominal thickness leaves the stone either standing proud of the rim - which defeats the whole point of protecting its edges - or sunk below it, leaving a dust trap all the way round.

So the actual slab is measured first, at several points, and the rebate is cut to that measurement. If the stone varies across its area, the deepest reading governs and the high spots are bedded down with slightly thinner packing.

It means the timber cannot be finished until the stone exists, and the two are made as a pair rather than in parallel. What you get is a top where a fingertip run from wood to stone finds no step at all.

Base: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Top: stone slab inset into a rebate cut to its measured thickness, finishing flush with the rim. Marble, granite or another stone of your choosing.

Rim: carved gadrooned edge running the full perimeter.

Apron: interlaced carved band with shells at the centres and corners of each face.

Legs: carved tapered legs with leaf detail, on small moulded feet.

Finish: deep brown hand polish. Lighter or darker tones can be matched, and gilded highlights can be added.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The stone travels in its own carton, out of the rebate. Left in place it would slide a fraction against the timber over a long journey and abrade the very edges the rebate exists to protect.

It is edge-protected on all four sides with dense foam, faced with a soft layer, and carried flat between rigid boards - never on edge.

The base is wrapped with a soft non-abrasive layer over the polish. The gadrooned rim is covered with a continuous foam strip along its whole run, since a single crushed lobe would stand out in a repeating pattern, and the apron shells and the moulded feet get individual collars. Corrugated panels then build a rigid shell, the base is blocked and braced, and both outer cartons are edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand, and the slab lowers back into its rebate on arrival.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price, stone and base together - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no charge for the weight of the slab. The same cost delivered to Rajkot as to Ranchi.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. Both cartons leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on stone and carved timber, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size, stone and finish are confirmed in writing. The timber cannot be finished until the slab has been measured, so the two stages run in sequence - we allow for that in the timeline we give you, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak base and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the top frame and its rebate, the carved rim, the apron rails, the leg joints and the legs. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are why termites avoid it, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

Because the stone is inset rather than bonded, it is also a replaceable part: if a slab is ever cracked, a new one cut to the same rebate restores the table completely. That is only possible because the recess was made to the stone in the first place. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
