This is a glass top centre table in hand-carved solid teak, made to order in the size you need. Glass is the easy-care choice for a living room table - it wipes clean, does not stain from cups or spills, and lets light through so a large table feels less heavy in the middle of a room.

Master Indian artisans carve the frame, apron and legs by hand from seasoned solid teak. The shell motifs on the apron are cut from solid stock, and the cabriole legs are shaped from thick blanks rather than built up, so the curve runs with the grain.

Every dimension is yours to set - the top size, the height, and the glass itself. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The recess that holds the glass has four square corners, and that is the reason it is cut by hand.

A rebate like this could be run around the frame with a powered cutter in minutes. But every powered cutter is round, so it leaves a rounded corner - and glass is cut square. Fit square glass into a recess with rounded corners and it sits proud, rocking on four small radii, with visible gaps at each corner. The usual industry answer is to round the glass corners to match, which looks like exactly what it is: a compromise made for the machine's benefit.

Ours are chopped square with a chisel instead. The rebate is cut around the frame, then each corner is pared out by hand to a true right angle, tested against a square, and pared again.

Then the clearance. Glass will not be forced - it does not compress, and a panel wedged tight into timber that expands in the monsoon is a panel that cracks. So the recess is cut a little larger than the glass all round, and the gap is packed with small soft setting blocks that hold the panel centred while leaving it free to sit rather than be gripped.

Frame: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Top: inset glass panel in a hand-cut square-cornered rebate, on soft setting blocks, with a moulded and rounded timber rim.

Apron: carved shells and scrolling leaf on all four faces.

Legs: carved cabriole legs shaped from solid blanks, finishing in scrolled feet.

Finish: warm mid-brown hand polish. Lighter or darker tones can be matched, and gilded highlights can be added on the apron.

Glass: thickness and tint set by you - clear, bronze or smoked, toughened if you prefer.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

The glass travels separately. A panel left sitting in its rebate would slide against the timber over a long journey and chip its own edges, so it is removed before packing and sent in its own carton.

It is edge-protected on all four sides with dense foam, faced with a soft layer, and carried flat between rigid boards - glass is strong flat and weak on edge, so it never travels standing up.

The frame is wrapped with a soft non-abrasive layer over the polish, with foam collars on the cabriole knees, the scrolled feet and the four corners of the rim. The carved apron gets a continuous foam strip along all four faces. Corrugated panels then build a rigid shell around the frame, the base is blocked and braced, and the outer cartons are edge-reinforced. Everything unwraps by hand, and the glass simply lowers back into its rebate on arrival.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price, glass and frame together - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no fragile surcharge. The same cost delivered to Pune as to Patna.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. Both cartons leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on glass and carved timber, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your size, glass specification and finish are confirmed in writing. We share a realistic timeline at that point, keep you updated as the table moves through carving and polishing, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak frame and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the top frame and its rebate, the apron rails, the joints where the legs meet them, and the legs themselves. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

The glass is a replaceable part rather than a bonded one, which is deliberate: if it is ever chipped or broken, a new panel drops into the same rebate and the table is as it was. That is only possible because the recess was cut to a true square in the first place. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make every piece we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
