A french style chair in solid teak with a silver leaf finish, a diamond-quilted back and a damask seat. It works as a bedroom occasional chair, a dressing chair, a pair flanking a console, or a single accent seat in a living room that already has enough upholstery in it.

The frame is hand-carved from seasoned solid teak by master Indian artisans - the crest, the arm scrolls, the rosettes at the arm ends and the shells on the seat rail are all cut from solid stock. Silver leaf is then laid over the carving and burnished, so the ornament catches light in a soft grey-white rather than a hard chrome.

Everything about it is made to order. Choose the leaf colour, the quilting on the back, the seat fabric and the dimensions. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. The chair comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The diamond grid on the back of this chair is set out before a single button goes in, because once the first row is pulled the fabric has already decided where the rest will land.

The upholsterer marks the centre line of the back panel first, then works the grid outward from it in both directions. This matters: if the grid starts from an edge, any small error accumulates and the last diamond ends up half a diamond wide against the frame. Starting from the middle pushes the error to both outer edges, where it splits in two and disappears.

Then comes the fullness. A quilted panel needs more fabric than the flat area it covers, because every button pulls material into the hollow behind it. That extra is calculated per row and eased in by hand as each button is tied off, always from the centre outward again. Pull them in the wrong order and the fabric bunches into hard folds at one side instead of falling into even soft ones everywhere.

What you see when it is done is a back that looks like it simply happened. The evenness of those folds is the entire skill, and it is the one thing you cannot rush.

Frame: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Back: shaped panel with a pierced scrolled crest and carved shoulders, upholstered in a diamond quilt.

Arms: open outward-scrolling arms on carved supports, finishing over carved rosettes.

Seat rail: serpentine, with carved shell and scroll detail at the centre and corners.

Legs: cabriole front legs with carved knees and scrolled feet; shaped rear legs.

Upholstery: quilted taupe back panel and woven floral damask seat as photographed. Any fabric combination can be used instead, including your own material.

Finish: hand-laid silver leaf, burnished. Gold, champagne, antiqued silver or plain polished teak are all available.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

Silver leaf is thin, and it sits on the highest points of the carving - exactly where packaging tends to press. So the wrapping is built to keep pressure off the crest, the arm scrolls, the rosettes and the carved feet.

Each of those raised elements gets its own foam collar first. A soft non-abrasive layer goes directly against the leafed surfaces so nothing coarse ever contacts the finish. Corrugated panels then build a shell around the chair, and the outer carton has reinforced edges so any load in transit is taken by the box rather than by the frame.

The quilted back and the damask seat are covered separately in a breathable wrap that keeps dust out without holding moisture against the fabric. Everything unwraps by hand, layer by layer, with no cutting needed near the finish or the upholstery.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price. No distance charges, no zone surcharges, no separate freight line at checkout - the chair reaches Kochi or Chandigarh at the same cost to you.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. The chair leaves in multi-layer protective packaging, is handled by people briefed on carved and leafed furniture, and is inspected at each transfer point. If something is not right when you open it, we resolve it - the guarantee is ours, not the transporter's.

Production starts once your finish, fabric and measurements are confirmed in writing, since every chair is made to order. You get a timeline at that point and updates as the chair moves through carving, leafing and upholstery, then a dispatch note with an expected delivery window so you can plan around it.

The solid teak frame and joinery are covered for 20 years. That is the structural heart of the chair - the back frame, the arm supports and their tenons, the seat rails and the legs. If a joint loosens or a member fails in that time, we put it right.

Running alongside it is a lifetime warranty against termite damage, valid for as long as the chair is yours. Teak's natural oils are what make that possible, and our seasoning and finishing process protects them.

We can offer terms this long because every chair is built in our own workshop by master Indian artisans, from timber we season ourselves. There is no supply chain in between us and the wood, so there is nothing about the chair we cannot vouch for. Your warranty is registered with your order automatically. If you need us years from now, quote the order number and we take it from there.
