A royal showcase is a display cabinet built at the scale and finish of court furniture - gilded throughout, carved from the solid, with the interior treated as carefully as the outside.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. A mirrored back stands behind glass shelves, the end bays are curved and glazed, and a band of inlaid drawers separates the display from a deeply pierced carved base.

The mirror is what makes the cabinet work as display: it doubles what is inside and puts light behind objects that would otherwise be lit only from the front.

Every showcase is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, shelf spacing, drawer arrangement, lighting, back treatment and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

The carving across the base of this showcase is holding nothing up, and it is important that it is not.

Look at it and the assumption is natural: a great mass of scrollwork beneath a heavy loaded cabinet must be what carries it. It is not, and it could not be. Openwork carving is a lattice of short-grained curves; loaded, it would eventually split at the first place the grain runs across a scroll.

So our master Indian artisans build the load path separately and completely. A solid shaped plinth runs beneath, a solid rail runs above, and the two are tied at the ends by solid uprights. That closed rectangle carries the entire weight of the glazed cabinet down to the floor. It is what you would build if there were no carving at all.

The pierced scrollwork is then hung within that frame, fixed at its top and ends, touching the floor nowhere. It fills the space and it carries nothing but itself.

The honest version of a decorated base is one where the decoration has been relieved of responsibility. That is why a cabinet like this can be filled and stay standing straight for a lifetime, and why the carving stays intact instead of slowly failing under a load it was never shaped to take.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer over board, no engineered board.

Configuration: tall glazed display section with curved glazed end bays and mirrored back, glass shelves, a band of inlaid drawers beneath, and a pierced carved base on a shaped plinth.

Structure: load carried by a solid plinth, rail and end uprights; the pierced base carving is hung within that frame and carries no load.

Drawers: figured timber fronts with fine inlay, running on solid teak runners.

Carving and finish: tall pierced crest, gilded cornice and pilasters, hand-applied gilding throughout, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Photography: images show the actual product, not renders. Items displayed inside are not included.

The pierced base is openwork, projects on three faces and sits at exactly the height a crate takes a knock. It is packed first, in shaped protection that meets only its solid members and leaves the pierced areas clear.

Glass shelves travel out of the cabinet, laid flat, interleaved and edge-guarded. The mirrored back is protected across its full face and braced so the carcass cannot flex against it. The curved end panes are supported by shaped formers across their whole curve.

Glazed doors are secured closed, braced and protected across each pane. Drawers are secured shut and blocked.

A soft non-abrasive layer goes against the gilding first, and the tall pierced crest is protected on both faces so it cannot rock.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection and strapping. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every showcase is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf and drawer layout and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Where access requires it, the cabinet is built to separate into sections that assemble in the room, with the glazing and mirror travelling separately.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture, mirror and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the cabinet is levelled before the mirror and shelves are fitted.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the showcase reaches you - the load-bearing plinth, rail and uprights, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing housings, the shelf supports, the drawer runners, and the cornice and crest joints.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout, there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. The pierced base carving is covered as ornament: because it carries no load, damage to it is always local and can be re-carved from solid teak and re-gilded without disturbing the structure of the cabinet. Glazed door alignment and drawer running are covered too. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.
