A display cabinet for a living room has to earn its floor space twice - once as storage and once as something worth looking at. Standing this one on tall carved legs rather than a plinth is what keeps it from dominating the room: the floor runs on underneath and the piece reads as furniture rather than as built-in joinery.

It is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, finished in cream with hand painted floral panels on the bombe base.

Glazed above for display, closed below for everything else.

Every cabinet is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, shelf spacing, base layout, painted design, lighting and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

Standing a two-part cabinet on legs changes what the base has to be.

When a cabinet sits on a plinth, the whole carcass bears on the floor along its full perimeter, and the load spreads out through the bottom of the box. Nothing is concentrated. Lift the same cabinet onto four legs and every bit of it - the base, the glazed hutch above, the glass, the shelves and everything displayed on them - now arrives at four points.

The mistake is to joint the legs into the corners of the base carcass. A carcass corner is a meeting of two thin panels; it is a good place to make a box and a poor place to carry a point load, and over years the legs work loose or the corners split.

So our master Indian artisans build the base as a proper framed structure first - four rails jointed into four leg posts, a rigid box in its own right - and then build the carcass down onto that frame. The legs are not attached to the cabinet; the cabinet sits on the legs' own frame.

Look underneath and you can see it: a complete frame with the carcass resting inside it. It is why a cabinet on legs can carry a glazed hutch and still be moved in twenty years without anything shifting.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors, drawers and frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Configuration: arched glazed upper section in four bays with canted glazed ends; bombe painted base with doors and drawers; tall carved legs.

Structure: base built as a framed structure of rails jointed into leg posts, with the carcass carried on that frame rather than the legs fixed to carcass corners.

Interior: glass shelves with spacing to your requirement; adjustable supports available; base interior planned with you; interior lighting available.

Carving and finish: tall pierced crest, shaped cornice, carved surrounds and apron; cream ground with hand painted floral panels, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The legs are the most exposed part of a cabinet like this and they carry the whole weight when the crate is set down, so each is wrapped along its full length with shaped protection at the foot and at the joint into the base frame.

The two sections travel separately where the design allows, so the base is not carrying the hutch in transit.

Glass shelves travel out, laid flat, interleaved and edge-guarded. Glazed doors are secured closed, braced and protected across each pane. Drawers and base doors are secured shut and blocked.

A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the cream ground and the painted panels - painted work shows a rub permanently.

The pierced crest is supported on both faces, and everything enters rigid outer crates with cushioning, corner protection and strapping. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every cabinet is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf and base layout, the painted design and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. The two-part construction means a tall cabinet gets into rooms a single-piece one could not.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture, painted work and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the base is levelled first, then the hutch is fitted and the shelves installed.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the cabinet reaches you - the base frame and leg joints, the carcass, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing housings, the shelf supports, the drawer runners, and the cornice and crest joints.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, drawers, back and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. The leg-to-frame joints are covered specifically, since on a cabinet standing on legs they carry everything. Painted panels are repainted by hand in the original sequence if needed. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

Yes - it is built for it. The base is a framed structure of rails jointed into leg posts, and the carcass sits on that frame rather than the legs being fixed to carcass corners. That is what carries a glazed hutch safely on four points.

So the floor runs on underneath. In a living room that keeps a large cabinet from reading as built-in, makes cleaning underneath possible, and lets the piece stand slightly away from a wall if the room needs it. A plinth can be built instead if you prefer.

Yes. A different flower, a monogram, or plain panels with no painting at all. It is agreed with you before production.

Drawers, shelves, dividers or a lockable section - whatever needs to be out of sight. It is planned with you before production.

Yes - concealed at the top or under each shelf. Specify it before production so the wiring is built into the carcass.

Yes. The glazed section separates from the base and travels separately, which is how a piece this tall gets through doorways and up staircases.

Yes. The cream shown can be built in ivory, white, grey, a dark ground with gilded carving, or a natural teak polish.

20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery, including the leg and frame joints, glazed door alignment and drawer running, plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Both apply anywhere in India.
