A wooden showcase finished in a pale natural tone suits a room where a gilded or lacquered cabinet would be too much - it stores and displays without announcing itself, and it works with most other furniture rather than competing with it.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. Four glazed doors with shaped heads, glass shelves, drawers in the centre base, and carved oval panels on the lower side doors.

The carving is shallow and legible rather than deep, which is right for a pale finish where deep shadows would look like stains.

Every showcase is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, door count, shelf spacing, drawer and cupboard layout, lighting and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

Glass in a door is never fixed to the door. It is held there, and how it is held decides what happens the day something breaks.

The quick way is to bed the pane in and pin or glue a moulding over it from the outside. It works, and it means a broken pane is a workshop job: the outer moulding has to be prised off the show face, which damages the finish, and often the door has to come off the cabinet to do it.

So our master Indian artisans glaze from the inside. The pane sits in a rebate cut into the back of the door frame, and a separately made bead is pinned in behind it - not glued. To replace a pane you open the door, lift out the bead with a thin blade, take out the glass, put the new pane in and press the bead back. The show face of the door is never touched, the door never leaves its hinges, and the finish is never disturbed.

The same detail also lets the pane be re-bedded if the timber ever needs easing, which matters over decades.

None of it is visible in the finished cabinet. That is rather the point: the decisions that matter most in furniture are usually the ones you cannot see until something goes wrong.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Configuration: four glazed doors with shaped arched heads and glazed ends; two drawers beneath the centre pair; panelled cupboard doors with carved oval flower panels beneath the outer doors.

Glazing: panes rebated into the back of each door frame and held by removable pinned beads, so a pane can be replaced from inside without disturbing the door or its finish.

Interior: glass shelves, spacing to your requirement; cupboard and drawer interiors planned with you; interior lighting available.

Carving: carved crest with a central pineapple, reeded corner pilasters, carved oval panels, shaped base rail.

Finish: pale natural finish showing the grain, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Glass shelves travel out of the cabinet, laid flat, interleaved and edge-guarded.

The glazed doors are secured closed, braced and protected across each pane. Drawers and cupboard doors are secured shut and blocked so nothing can move inside the crate.

A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the pale finish first - a light natural finish shows a scuff as a bright mark in the grain, more readily than a dark polish would.

The carved crest, the reeded pilasters and the shaped base rail each receive individually shaped protection, and the carved oval panels are protected without pressure on their raised centres.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection at all eight corners, and strapping that prevents movement. This multi-layer protective packaging is why we guarantee dent-free arrival.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every showcase is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf and drawer layout and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Where access requires it, the cabinet is built to separate into sections that assemble in the room.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the cabinet is levelled before the shelves are fitted.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the showcase reaches you - the frame, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing rebates and beads, the shelf supports, the drawer runners, the cupboard doors and the cornice and crest joints.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, drawers, backs and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. A pale natural finish is among the easiest to repair invisibly: carved elements are re-cut from teak of matching tone and finished in, and because the finish sits in the timber rather than over it, a repair blends as the wood colours. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.
