A curio cabinet is for the pieces a house collects - silver, porcelain, ivory-coloured glass, small sculpture, things brought back from travelling. Unlike a crockery unit it has no closed storage: everything in it is meant to be looked at.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved and gilded by master Indian artisans, glazed on the front and both curved ends with glass shelves inside.

Standing on carved cabriole legs rather than a plinth, it lets light pass beneath as well as through, which is what keeps a fully glazed cabinet from looking heavy.

Every cabinet is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, shelf spacing, lighting, back treatment and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

Glass never sits on its edge. That is the rule, and a cabinet glazed nearly to the floor is where ignoring it shows up.

A large pane looks like it should simply rest in the bottom of its groove along its whole lower edge. It must not. Timber is never perfectly straight, and a groove that is a hair high at one point becomes a single hard bearing point carrying the entire weight of the pane. Glass has no ability to spread that load. It concentrates there, and then one warm afternoon, or one firm door close, and the pane cracks upward from that spot.

So our master Indian artisans set every pane on two small blocks, positioned in from each end at the points where a supported sheet flexes least. The pane's weight is carried on those two blocks and nowhere else; along the rest of its edge it floats clear of the groove with a deliberate gap.

The same gap gives the timber somewhere to go. Wood moves a little through the year even in teak, and a pane packed tight into its groove has nothing to accommodate that movement except itself.

Two blocks and a gap. It costs nothing and it is the difference between glass that lasts a lifetime and glass that cracks for no visible reason.

Material: solid teak frame and door, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Glazing: curved glass end panels formed to template, glazed front door, glazing carried nearly to the base. Every pane set on bearing blocks with clearance along the rest of its edge.

Interior: glass shelves, spacing to your requirement; interior lighting available; mirrored or timber back to choice.

Carving: pierced crest over an arched cornice, carved corner capitals, shaped carved apron, carved cabriole legs.

Finish: hand-applied gilding over the carved teak, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak frame and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Photography: images show the actual product, not renders.

A cabinet that is almost entirely glass is packed as glass first and furniture second.

The curved end panes stay in their housings, secured, and are then protected by shaped formers that support each curve across its whole face so nothing bears on the crown of the bend.

Glass shelves travel out of the cabinet, laid flat, interleaved and edge-guarded on all sides.

The glazed door is secured closed, braced, and protected across its full pane.

A soft non-abrasive layer goes against the gilding first. The pierced crest, the carved capitals, the shaped apron and each cabriole leg receive individually shaped protection - legs take more knocks in transit than any other part of a cabinet.

The frame enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection and strapping that prevents movement. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every cabinet is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf layout and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the cabinet is levelled before the shelves go in; a glazed cabinet standing on an uneven floor puts its panes under stress, so this matters more here than on a solid piece.

The solid teak frame and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the cabinet reaches you - the corner posts and capitals, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing housings, the shelf supports, the cornice and crest joints, and the carved apron and legs.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout, there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach, and the timber's own oils deter them.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Glazing is covered in its housings - a pane that cracks because of how it was seated is our fault, not wear - as is door alignment. Both warranties apply anywhere in India and travel with the furniture.

Yes. Shelf count and heights are specified by you before production, and adjustable supports can be built in so you can change them later as your collection changes.

Yes - concealed at the top or under each shelf. Specify it before production so the wiring is built into the frame rather than added afterwards.

Curved - formed to a template so it wraps each corner. That removes the front corner posts and lets you see into the cabinet from an angle.

No - this design is glazed throughout with no cupboard, so everything in it is on display. If you would like a closed base beneath, we can build the same cabinet on one.

No. The same carving can be silvered, finished in ivory with gilded detail, laid over a dark ground, or polished in natural teak.

Yes. Width, height and depth are all specified by you, and the carving, glazing and shelf spacing are laid out afresh so the proportions stay right.
