A solid wood wardrobe is one built from timber throughout rather than from board with a timber face - and on a piece this size the difference is structural, not cosmetic. Solid stock can be carved to real depth, it holds hinges properly, and it can be repaired in twenty years rather than replaced.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with a large carved oval across the centre doors, dark figured panels and a silvered carved frame.

A pierced apron and carved feet lift it off the floor.

Every wardrobe is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, door count, panel choice, finish and interior layout are all specified by you, with custom sizes made to order and dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

An oval split down the middle by a door gap is the least forgiving shape in furniture.

The eye follows a curve continuously, and it is extremely good at detecting where a curve changes rate. An arch can be a little out at its crown and survive; a circle can be slightly egg-shaped and nobody minds. An oval crossing a vertical joint has its widest point at exactly the place the joint runs through, and if the two halves disagree by even a fraction the curve visibly kinks as it crosses.

Carving the two halves separately, on two doors, to the same drawing, will not work. Two hands, two boards, two days - the halves will differ.

So our master Indian artisans carve the oval as one whole. A single board wide enough to take the complete shape is prepared, the entire oval is set out and carved on it as one continuous piece of work, and only then is the board sawn down its centre line. Each half is then let into its door.

The two halves are not matched. They are the same oval, cut in two. That is why the curve runs through the joint without a break.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer over board, no engineered board.

Configuration: six doors, with a carved oval spanning the centre pair and carved medallions on the outer doors.

Oval panel: carved as one piece on a single board and split on the centre line, so both halves are the same shape.

Panels: dark figured timber panels set into a silvered carved frame.

Carving: carved stiles and fluted rails, pierced crest above the cornice, carved medallions, pierced shaped apron, carved cabriole feet.

Finish: silvered carved frame with polished figured panels, sealed for durability.

Interior: planned to your requirements - long and short hanging, shelving, drawers, shoe storage, lockable compartments.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The carved oval crosses the two centre doors, so those doors are packed as a pair - secured closed against each other and braced, so the two halves of the oval cannot move independently and grind at the joint.

All doors are secured and braced so nothing works against its hinges.

A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the silvered frame first; silvered surfaces mark more readily than gilded ones.

The pierced apron along the base receives its own shaped protection with clearance beneath - it projects and sits at the height a crate is most likely to be knocked - and the pierced crest, the carved medallions and the cabriole feet are each protected individually.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection at all eight corners, and strapping that prevents movement. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town, whatever the size of the wardrobe.

Because every wardrobe is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Where access requires it, the wardrobe is built to knock down into sections that assemble in the room; the two oval doors are kept together as a pair so their alignment is never disturbed.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling large carved furniture. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On installation the oval is sighted across the joint and the doors adjusted until the curve runs unbroken.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the wardrobe reaches you - the frame, the door construction and hinging, the cornice and crest joints, the pierced apron and the carved feet.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, panels, back and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach, and the timber's own oils deter them.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Door alignment is covered, which matters particularly here: the oval reads correctly only while the centre doors sit exactly where they were hung, so if either drops or binds we adjust it against the other rather than in isolation. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.
