A royal wardrobe is one built the way court furniture was built - solid timber, ornament cut from the solid, a two-tone finish with gilding used as emphasis, and construction chosen for effect rather than for ease. This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans.

The ends are curved doors rather than fixed panels, so the wardrobe has a genuine cylindrical sweep at each end and storage inside it. The front carries cream panels in a dark frame, each with a gilded starburst medallion.

A pierced crest tops the cornice and a deep pierced gold apron runs along the base.

Every wardrobe is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, door count, panel colour, medallion design and interior layout are all specified by you, with custom sizes made to order and dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

A curved door will not hinge like a flat one, and the reason catches out anyone building their first.

On a flat door, the hinge sits on the edge and the door swings in the plane of its own face. Nothing behind the hinge line has anywhere to go, so nothing collides.

A curved door is different. Its face is part of a cylinder, and its inner edge sits well behind the outer surface. Hinge it on the edge in the ordinary way and, as the door begins to swing, that inner edge rotates straight into the carcass beside it. The door binds within a few degrees and the only remedies are ugly - grinding a hollow into the carcass, or leaving a gap wide enough to hide the problem.

So our master Indian artisans set the hinge from the geometry rather than from the edge. The pivot has to sit outside the curve so the whole door swings clear of the body, and where that pivot goes is calculated from the radius of the curve and the thickness of the door, then proved on a full-size drawing before anything is cut.

Get it right and a curved door opens as easily as a flat one and closes to the same fine gap. Get it wrong and no amount of carving hides it.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Configuration: panelled front doors with curved end doors, each end door a cylindrical section hinged clear of the carcass.

Carving: gilded starburst medallions with radiating carved rays on each panel, gilded beading round every panel, pierced carved crest above the cornice, deep pierced gilded apron and carved feet.

Finish: dark polished frame with cream panels and hand-applied gilding on the carved ornament, sealed for durability.

Interior: planned to your requirements - long and short hanging, shelving, drawers, shoe storage, lockable compartments; the curved ends give usable storage rather than dead corners.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The deep pierced apron along the base is the most vulnerable part of this wardrobe - it projects, it is openwork, and it sits at the height a crate is most likely to be knocked. It receives its own shaped protection with clearance beneath before anything else is wrapped.

The curved end doors are secured closed and supported along their full sweep rather than at their outermost point, so no pressure concentrates on the crown of the curve.

All doors are braced so nothing works against its hinges. A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the finish first - this piece carries a dark polish and pale panels, and each shows marks differently.

The pierced crest and the gilded medallions receive individually shaped protection.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection throughout, and strapping that prevents movement. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every wardrobe is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Where access requires it, the wardrobe is built to knock down into sections that assemble in the room; the curved end sections are designed to separate cleanly so their geometry is unaffected.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling large carved furniture. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On installation the curved doors are checked through their full swing.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the wardrobe reaches you - the frame, the door construction, the hinging of the curved end doors, the cornice and crest joints, the pierced apron and the carved feet.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, curved ends, backs and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. The curved doors are covered specifically: they are the most demanding element in the piece, and if either ever binds, drops or fails to close to its gap, we adjust or rehang it. Both warranties apply anywhere in India and travel with the furniture.
