A royal throne chair in carved solid teak with a silver-toned finish and coloured floral bands, supplied with a matching footstool. It is a formal seat of honour - for a reception hall, an entrance, a ceremonial setting, or a room where one chair is meant to hold the centre.

Master Indian artisans carve every element by hand from seasoned solid teak. The shield panel, the lions, the crest and the apron are cut from solid stock, and the coloured bands are set into recessed borders so they finish flush with the surface around them rather than sitting on top of it.

Both pieces are made to order. Choose the colours, the cushion material, the finish tone and the dimensions. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. The set comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frames and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The coloured flower bands running down the stiles and across the rails are not painted onto the surface. They sit in channels cut into it, and the whole effect depends on one thing: the channel being exactly as deep as the ornament is thick, everywhere along its length.

Too shallow anywhere and the band stands proud, catching light along one edge and looking stuck on. Too deep and it sits below the surface in a trough, throwing a shadow line that reads as a mistake. Either error is invisible in a photograph of one flower and glaring across a metre of border.

So the depth is not measured with a rule. A short offcut of the ornament itself is kept beside the work as a gauge, and after each pass the carver lays it into the channel and runs a fingertip across the join. A finger can detect a step of a fraction of a millimetre, far below what the eye picks up under workshop light - which is why this check is done by touch rather than by sight, and done every few inches rather than at the end.

When it is right, the band and the wood read as one surface, and nobody thinks about how the colour got there at all.

Frames: solid teak throughout on both pieces, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Back: tall upright frame with a shield-shaped centre panel carved with a flowering stem, under a carved crest and a small crowned finial.

Corner finials: turned finials at the tops of both back stiles.

Arms: seated lions carved in the round on carved arm blocks.

Seat: upholstered cushion over a solid seat frame.

Ornament: coloured floral bands set flush into recessed borders on the stiles, crest, seat rail and apron.

Legs: carved cabriole front legs finishing in paw feet.

Footstool: carved and banded to match, with an upholstered top and paw feet.

Finish: hand-applied silver and gold tones over the carving. Full gold, full silver, antiqued tones or plain polished teak are also available.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, for both pieces.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

Two things need protecting differently here: carving that projects, and flush bands that must not be rubbed.

The lions, the crest, the crowned finial, the turned corner finials and the paw feet each get a shaped foam collar. The banded borders get a soft non-abrasive layer laid smoothly along their whole length - no folds, no creases, because a fold pressed against a flush surface for days in transit is exactly what leaves a mark.

Corrugated panels then build a rigid shell around each piece, with the chair's base blocked and braced so its weight rests on the seat frame rather than on the tall back. The outer cartons are edge-reinforced so stacked weight is carried by the packaging. The cushions on both pieces get a breathable cover that keeps dust out without holding moisture against the cloth. Everything unwraps by hand, layer by layer, with no blades needed near the finish.

Free PAN-India delivery covers both pieces - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no separate charge for the stool. The set costs the same delivered to Amritsar as to Vizag.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed on both. They leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on carved and finished furniture, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either carton, tell us and we put it right - the guarantee rests with us, not with the transporter.

Because the set is made to order, production begins once your colours, finish, cushion material and measurements are confirmed in writing. Work of this kind takes real time and we give you a realistic timeline rather than an optimistic one, with updates as both pieces move through carving, banding, finishing and upholstery, and a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

Both frames carry a 20-year warranty on the solid teak and its joinery. On the chair that covers the tall back frame and the joints holding it upright, the seat frame, the lion arms and their blocks, the apron and the carved legs; on the footstool, its frame and feet. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside on both pieces, with no end date. Teak's natural oils are why termites avoid it, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the set is yours.

Terms like these are only worth writing if the maker controls the whole process, and we do - both pieces are built start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make every piece we sell, from timber we season ourselves. Registration is automatic with your order, and your order number is all a claim ever needs.
