This is a pedestal centre table in hand-carved solid teak, made to order in the diameter you need. A single pedestal is the most practical base a round table can have - there are no legs at the corners for feet to find, so people can sit close all the way round without anything in the way.

Master Indian artisans carve every element by hand from seasoned solid teak. The top is worked as one continuous composition rather than repeated motifs, the pedestal is carved in the round from thick stock, and the platform and scroll feet are cut from solid blanks.

Diameter, height and finish are all yours to choose. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. Behind it stand a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

Everything about a pedestal table comes down to one question: how far do the feet have to reach?

A table on a single column is held up in the middle and loaded at the edge. Lean on the rim, or put something heavy there, and the whole piece wants to pivot over the foot nearest that point. Whether it does depends entirely on how far that foot sits from the centre.

The workshop rule is that the feet should reach out to roughly two-thirds of the top's radius. Less than that and the table becomes tippy at the edge - the classic fault of a pedestal table made to look elegant rather than to work. Much more and the feet stick out beyond the top, catching shins and looking clumsy.

So on this table the platform is drawn from the top downwards, not the other way round: the diameter is fixed first, the foot spread is calculated from it, and the pedestal is shaped to fill the space between them. If you order a wider top, the platform grows with it.

It is the least visible decision in the piece and the one that decides whether you trust the table.

Material: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Top: round, carved across the full face with a central rosette inside a floral wreath, under a beaded rim and a marbled edge band.

Pedestal: single carved column with gilded acanthus and lattice, worked in the round from thick solid stock.

Base: concave-sided platform spreading to four carved scroll feet, proportioned to the top diameter.

Finish: hand-applied gold with a marbled banding tone. Silver, champagne, antiqued tones or plain polished teak are also available.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

A pedestal table is top-heavy and narrow at the middle, so it travels in two parts - the top separated from the base - and is joined on arrival.

The top is carried flat, carved face upward, with a soft non-abrasive layer laid over the relief and a rigid panel spanning its beaded rim so nothing presses on the carving. Its edge band gets a continuous foam strip all the way round.

The base travels upright in its own former. The pedestal is sleeved in foam along its height, and each scroll foot gets a deep collar since they project furthest and sit lowest. Corrugated panels build rigid shells around both parts, both outer cartons are edge-reinforced, and the fixings are packed separately and clearly. Everything unwraps by hand, and the top locates onto the pedestal without tools.

Free PAN-India delivery is included in the price, both cartons together - no zone rates, no distance surcharge, no freight line at checkout. The same cost delivered to Jodhpur as to Jorhat.

Dent-free arrival is guaranteed. Both parts leave in multi-layer protective packaging, travel with handlers briefed on gilded relief carving, and are checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you open either, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee sits with us, not with the transporter.

Because the table is made to order, production begins once your diameter, height and finish are confirmed in writing. A fully carved top takes considerably longer than a plain one, so we give you a realistic timeline rather than an optimistic one, and send a dispatch note with an expected delivery window.

The solid teak and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the top and its frame, the pedestal, the joint where the pedestal meets the top, the platform and the scroll feet. If a joint opens or a member fails within those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it and never expires. Teak's natural oils are what termites avoid, and our seasoning and finishing routine is built around preserving them, so the timber is guaranteed for as long as the table is yours.

On a pedestal table one joint carries everything: where the column meets the underside of the top. It is made large, blocked and braced, and it is exactly what a twenty-year term is written for. All of it is built from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who make everything we sell, from timber we season ourselves.
