A tall mirror in solid teak with candle arms, hand-carved and gilded.

The frame is worked as open rococo foliage, pierced through so the wall shows between the scrolls, with a carved bird on each side.

A candle arm projects from the frame at both sides at about the height of the middle of the glass, each with a turned cup and a drip pan.

Above, a pierced arch carries a plume crest. Below, the carving spreads into a wide skirt with a central shell.

Candlelight beside a mirror is doubled by the reflection, which is why mirrors were made this way in the first place - two candles do the work of four.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A candle arm on a mirror has to be set out from the flame backwards, not from the carving forwards.

The cup is the fixed point. Everything else - how far the arm reaches, where it leaves the frame, how high it sits - follows from putting the flame in a position where it stands clear of the frame above it, clear of the glass beside it, and where the drip pan sits under the candle rather than beside it.

So the arm's projection is decided first, and the carving is designed around the arm rather than the arm being fitted into a gap in the carving.

The fixing is a socket. Each arm is turned with a spigot at its root that drops into a lined socket cut into the frame - not glued in, not screwed through the face. That means the arm carries its load into solid timber, it can be lifted out for cleaning, and if you would rather use the mirror without candles the socket is closed with a small carved cap and the frame reads as complete.

The drip pan is turned as part of the arm rather than added, so there is no seam for wax to sit in.

Material: solid teak in the frame, crest, skirt, birds, candle arms and back structure.

Frame: rococo foliage pierced right through, with a carved bird at each side, an openwork arch and plume crest above and a carved skirt with central shell below.

Candle arms: one at each side, turned with an integral drip pan, spigot-fitted into lined sockets in the frame and removable, with carved caps supplied to close the sockets.

Glass: mirror plate arched at the head, set inside the carved frame.

Back: solid structure carrying the hanging fixings.

Finish: gilded by hand, raised faces burnished brighter than the grounds.

Made to order: size, number of candle arms, carving and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The candle arms are removed and packed separately - they are the parts standing furthest out from the frame, and they never travel fitted.

Each arm is wrapped individually with its cup and drip pan padded, and packed in a compartmented box with the carved socket caps.

Foam is pressed into every opening in the pierced frame so the carving is braced from behind, with acid-free tissue over the gilding first.

The plume crest, the two carved birds and the outer tips of the skirt are each given their own moulded foam blocks.

The plate is taped in a grid, foam-faced and covered with a rigid board cut to its arched head.

Everything travels flat in a hardwood crate, corner-protected and marked for orientation. Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with guaranteed dent-free arrival. No distance charge, no size charge and no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing - and we ask the ceiling height as well, since the plume crest carries the mirror well above the glass.

We photograph your actual mirror through the build: the frame, the piercing, the birds, the arms turned and fitted, the gilding and the finished mirror.

On site, our team unpacks it flat, hangs it level, then fits the candle arms into their sockets last so nothing is loaded during handling.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch so the route can be planned. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the frame, the arch, the crest, the skirt, the carved birds and the arm sockets, along with every joint between them.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the mirror and never expires. Teak's own oils are its first protection and our warranty stands behind them.

The mirror plate, the candle arms and the hanging fixings are covered against manufacturing defect. Because each arm is socketed rather than fixed permanently, an arm can be removed, cleaned, re-gilded or replaced without any work to the frame.

The gilding is recorded against your order number for future matching. Contact us and we will arrange it.
