A French style mirror in solid teak, hand-carved and gilded.

The urn and flowers above the frame give the mirror its height, standing on a moulded plinth so it reads as an object placed on the frame rather than growing out of it.

Husk swags hang from corner roundels and fall down both sides, tapering as they descend.

The frame between them is pierced with a fine trellis, so the wall shows through it, and a carved rosette sits at the centre of each side.

Everything is symmetrical about a single vertical line, which is the character of this style - and the reason it suits a formal room, a hallway or a position centred above a console.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Symmetrical ornament is far less forgiving than asymmetrical ornament, and this frame is symmetrical everywhere.

On a rococo design, a scroll that ends a fraction short of where it was drawn is simply a scroll. There is nothing on the other side identical to it, so there is nothing to compare it against. Errors disappear into the freedom of the style.

Here, every element has a twin directly opposite. A husk drop, a rosette, a trellis crossing, a corner roundel - if one sits a little low, the eye finds it immediately by comparison with its pair.

The danger is cumulative error. Set out the trellis by marking each crossing from the last one, and every small inaccuracy adds to the one before it, so by the far end the pattern has drifted - even though no single measurement was wrong.

So nothing on this frame is measured from its neighbour. A centre line is struck first, and every element is measured from that datum - each husk, each crossing, each rosette - so an error anywhere stays local instead of accumulating.

It is slower to set out. It is the only way symmetry survives to the end of a run.

Material: solid teak in the frame, urn crest, plinth, swags, trellis, rosettes, base bracket and back structure.

Crest: carved urn with flowers on a moulded plinth above the frame.

Swags: husk swags hanging from carved corner roundels, tapering down both sides.

Frame: pierced trellis on all four sides with a carved rosette at the centre of each.

Base: scrolled corners with a small carved bracket projecting below the frame.

Glass: plain rectangular mirror plate.

Setting out: every element measured from a struck centre line rather than from its neighbour.

Finish: gilded by hand, raised faces burnished brighter than the grounds.

Made to order: size, crest, trellis pattern and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The urn crest is removed where the design allows and packed separately - it stands highest and it is the piece most likely to be caught.

Foam is pressed into every opening in the pierced trellis so the frame is braced from behind, with acid-free tissue laid over the gilding first.

The husk swags are carved in relief with undercut husks all the way down, so foam is pressed in behind them rather than laid across, and the corner roundels and centre rosettes are individually padded.

The base bracket projects below the frame and is given its own moulded block.

The plate is taped in a grid, foam-faced and boarded.

The mirror travels flat in a hardwood crate, corner-protected and marked for orientation. Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with guaranteed dent-free arrival. No distance charge, no size charge and no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing - and we ask the ceiling height as well, since the urn crest carries the mirror well above the glass.

We photograph your actual mirror through the build: the setting out with its centre line, the trellis pierced, the swags and urn carved, the gilding and the finished mirror.

On site, our team unpacks it flat, fits the crest if it travelled separately, marks the fixings and hangs it level - a symmetrical design shows any tilt at once, so it is set with a level.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the frame members, the trellis, the crest plinth, the swags and the back structure, along with every joint between them.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the mirror and never expires. Teak's natural oils are its own defence and our warranty stands behind them.

The mirror plate and hanging fixings are covered against manufacturing defect.

The setting-out drawing for your frame - the centre line and every measured position on it - is kept with your order number. On a symmetrical design that record is what allows a damaged element to be re-carved and placed exactly where its twin expects it. The gilding specification is logged alongside. Contact us and we will arrange it.
