A dressing table cabinet in solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans in ivory with gold-picked carving, built entirely to your measurements.

It is designed for standing use and for volume. Full cupboards behind shaped doors and a run of drawers below give it far more capacity than a seated vanity of the same width, because nothing is lost to a knee recess.

The serpentine front is what stops that volume from reading as bulk. A flat cabinet of this width would sit heavily against a wall; a front that moves in and out catches light differently along its length and breaks the mass visually.

The oval mirror above is generous, and being openwork it fills the wall without adding weight. It can be built taller, round, arched or as a separate wall-hung frame.

Tell us your wall and how you use the room, and we will lay the storage out around it. Photographs on this page show the actual piece our artisans made, not a computer render.

A bow front curves one way. A serpentine front changes its mind - out at the ends, back through the middle, forward again at the centre - and every one of those reversals has to be carried through the whole depth of the carcass, not just applied to its face.

That is the difficulty. The top has to be shaped to the same line as the front. The doors have to leave and re-enter openings that are curving in opposite directions at their two edges. The plinth below and the apron carving along it have to follow the identical sweep, or the base looks as though it belongs to a different cabinet.

Our craftsmen build a full-size template of the front line first and work every component to that one master profile - top, doors, drawer fronts, plinth, apron. Nothing is fitted by eye against the piece beside it, because small errors accumulate along a curve and there is no straight edge anywhere to check against.

The openwork pilasters are then set at the points where the curve reverses. That is not an aesthetic choice. Those are the positions where the carcass most needs a vertical member, so the pierced carving is standing exactly where the structure wants a post.

Material: Solid teak throughout - carcass, shaped doors, drawer boxes, top, pilasters, plinth and mirror frame. No veneer over engineered board.

Construction: Serpentine front worked to a single master profile through top, doors, drawers and plinth; full-height openwork carved pilasters; carved apron and scrolled feet; gilded openwork oval mirror frame.

Storage: Cupboards behind shaped doors with drawers below. Layout, internal shelving, drawer counts and fittings are configurable.

Finish: Ivory ground with gold-picked carving as photographed. Any tone and gilding level can be specified.

Configuration: Built for standing use as shown, or with a knee recess and seating if you prefer a seated vanity.

Dimensions: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Made: Handcrafted Indian luxury, produced to order by master Indian artisans.

The gilded openwork mirror travels alone and first. A rigid board is fitted behind the whole frame so no scroll can flex, the glass is faced, and contoured foam bears on the frame body while every projecting curl sits clear in air - burnished gilding marks under pressure long before timber would.

The cabinet is wrapped in a soft, lint-free layer laid on without tension, then given contoured foam that follows the serpentine front continuously. A curve that reverses has no flat face anywhere along it, so the padding wraps rather than sits, and the pierced pilasters are bridged so nothing presses into the openwork.

Doors are secured shut with their hinges relieved of load. Drawers are removed or locked so nothing can run out and strike a carved front.

The scrolled feet and the carved apron sit lowest and meet trolleys first, so both get their own rigid guards along the full length of the base.

Everything then goes into rigid, internally braced outer cartons. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed, and our team assembles the piece in your room.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with no distance surcharge and nothing added at the end. Metros, tier-two cities and smaller towns are served on the same terms.

Production starts once your dimensions, storage layout, carving depth, gilding and mirror size are confirmed in writing. Serpentine carcass work and pierced carving are both slow, and gilding needs curing time, so we give you an honest timeline at that point and keep you updated as the piece moves through shaping, carving, door fitting, finishing and gilding.

We dispatch through carriers experienced with carved, gilded and mirrored furniture, and send tracking details as soon as the piece leaves us.

On arrival our team brings the cabinet in, positions and levels it against your wall, checks that every door closes cleanly against the curve, mounts the mirror and removes all packaging. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed - if anything is not right, tell us and we will resolve it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the carcass, the shaped doors and their hinges, every drawer box, the pilasters, the plinth and the mirror frame.

Shaped doors on a serpentine front are the most demanding thing here, and they are fully covered. Each door is worked from solid stock so the curve is the shape of the timber itself, not a thin skin bent over formers and held under tension. Nothing can delaminate along the sweep, and the closing gap stays even.

The openwork pilasters and mirror frame are covered on the same basis. Both are cut from solid teak with the grain planned along the load paths, so pierced carving holds itself as one continuous structure.

The teak carries a lifetime warranty against termite damage for as long as you own the piece, from the oils in the timber rather than the finish above them.

If anything covered needs attention, send us your order details and photographs and our artisans will handle the repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

As built it is a standing dressing cabinet, with the full width given to storage rather than to leg space - which is why it holds so much. If you want a seated vanity, we can build the same design with a central recess and a matching stool.

Cupboards behind the shaped doors with a run of drawers below. Because no volume is lost to a knee recess, it holds considerably more than a seated vanity of the same width. Counts, shelving and internal fittings are all laid out with you.

The front curves outward at the ends, back through the middle and forward again at the centre, so the line never runs flat. It is shaped through the whole carcass - top, doors, drawers and plinth all follow one master profile - not applied to the face.

Yes. The oval shown can become round, arched, shaped or rectangular, be built larger or smaller, or be supplied as a separate wall-hung frame so you set its height. Our carvers redraw the frame carving to suit.

Yes. The carving can be finished in the body colour, picked out in cream, gilded in gold as shown, or done in silver or champagne leaf. The carved form is unchanged and only the finish differs.

Any size that suits your wall. Length, depth, height and mirror dimensions are all set by you and confirmed in writing before we cut timber. Send us your room measurements and our team will propose balanced proportions.

Yes. They are set at the points where the serpentine curve reverses, which is exactly where the carcass wants a vertical member, and they are cut from solid teak with continuous ribs planned through the pattern. The ornament is carrying load.

A 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery, including the shaped doors, the pierced pilasters and the mirror frame, and a lifetime warranty against termite damage on the teak. Send your order details and photographs if anything needs attention.
