This dressing table with round mirror is solid teak, hand-carved and silver-leafed by master Indian artisans, and built entirely to your measurements. It comes with a matching quilted stool.

The kidney-shaped top is the practical heart of it. Because the centre draws back, you sit inside the curve rather than in front of a flat edge, and both ends of the table come within easy reach without leaning.

The glass inset over the top means cosmetics, perfume and hair products meet a surface that wipes clean in a second. It can be left off if you prefer bare timber, or replaced with stone.

The single wide drawer keeps the frieze uncluttered, but we can build the vanity with additional drawers at both ends if you need more capacity.

Silver leaf as shown, gold leaf, painted or natural teak - the finish is yours. Photographs on this page show the actual piece our artisans made, not a computer render.

Fluting a straight column is simple arithmetic. Fluting a tapered leg is not, and the legs on this table are the reason.

A flute is a shallow channel cut down the length of the leg. Cut a set of them into a leg that narrows towards the floor and the channels have to narrow with it - each one converging on the next at exactly the same rate, all of them staying parallel to the eye, none of them running out at the bottom or crowding at the top. The moment one flute is a fraction wider than its neighbour, the leg looks twisted even though it is perfectly straight.

There is no way to lay this out once and repeat it. Each leg is marked around its own circumference at both ends, the spacing divided by hand, and the lines carried down the taper before any cutting starts. Then each channel is cut in a single continuous pass, because a channel restarted halfway leaves a step that no amount of sanding hides.

Four legs on the table and four on the stool means eight of these, and they all have to match. It is unglamorous work that nobody comments on, and it is exactly what separates furniture that looks right from furniture that looks nearly right.

Material: Solid teak throughout - kidney-shaped top, frieze, drawer box, legs, mirror frame and stool frame. No veneer over engineered board.

Construction: Shaped kidney top with inset glass surface, hand-carved rose garland on the drawer front and mirror crest, hand-fluted tapered legs with turned feet.

Mirror: Round glass in a slim carved frame on a shaped plinth, with carved rose swags.

Storage: One wide centre drawer as photographed. Additional end drawers and internal fittings can be built in.

Finish: Hand-applied silver leaf as photographed. Gold leaf, champagne, painted tones or natural teak can be specified instead.

Stool: Quilted upholstered seat on matching fluted legs, included. Fabric is your choice.

Dimensions: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Made: Handcrafted Indian luxury, produced to order by master Indian artisans.

Silver leaf marks under pressure, so every leafed surface is first covered in a soft, lint-free wrap laid on without tension - nothing that could burnish the surface is allowed against it.

The round mirror and its plinth come off the table and travel crated separately, the glass faced and the slim carved frame supported around its full circumference, with the rose swag at the crest given its own rigid guard.

The glass-inset top is the other fragile element. It is faced, cushioned continuously along the kidney curve, and braced so it cannot shift within its crate - a shaped edge with no straight run needs support at every point rather than at corners.

The legs are the slimmest parts of the set and each one is individually sleeved in shaped foam along its full taper, protecting the flute edges where a knock would show immediately. The stool travels in its own box with its quilted seat covered.

All components then go into rigid, internally braced outer cartons. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed, and our team assembles the vanity in your room.

Free delivery is included anywhere in India, with no distance charge and nothing added at the end. Metros, tier-two cities and smaller towns are served on the same terms.

Production starts once your dimensions, finish, top surface, drawer arrangement and stool fabric are confirmed in writing. Leafing needs curing time between stages, so we give you an honest timeline then and keep you updated as the piece moves through shaping, fluting, carving, leafing and assembly.

We dispatch through carriers experienced with leafed, carved and mirrored furniture, and send tracking details as soon as it leaves us.

On arrival our team positions and levels the table, fits the mirror and its plinth, sets the stool and takes every piece of packaging away. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed - if anything is not right, tell us and we will resolve it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the shaped top, the frieze, the drawer box, all four legs, the mirror frame and plinth, and the stool.

Fluted tapered legs are the detail that most depends on solid timber, and they are fully covered. Every flute removes material from a leg that is already narrowing, so the strength that remains comes entirely from unbroken fibre running the length of the piece. Solid teak provides that; a laminated or hollow equivalent could not carry a fluted taper this slim.

The kidney-shaped top is covered on the same terms. It is shaped from solid stock rather than assembled from segments, so there are no radial joints to open along the curve.

The teak carries a lifetime warranty against termite damage for as long as you own the set, from the oils in the timber rather than the leaf over it.

If anything covered needs attention, send us your order details and photographs and our artisans will handle the repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

The kidney-shaped top is solid teak with a glass panel inset over it, so you get a wipe-clean surface with the timber visible around the border. We can leave the glass off, use a mirror inset, or fit stone instead - it is your choice.

Yes. As shown there is one wide centre drawer, which keeps the frieze clean. We can add drawers at both curved ends, deepen the centre drawer, or fit internal dividers and jewellery trays.

It is hand-applied leaf laid sheet by sheet over a prepared ground and burnished by hand, not a sprayed metallic paint. Gold leaf, champagne or a painted finish can be applied instead if you prefer.

The channels are cut by hand down each tapering leg, and they catch light along their edges so a plain straight leg reads as detailed rather than bare. It is slow work - each flute has to converge with the taper at exactly the same rate as its neighbours.

Any size that suits your room. Width, depth, table height, mirror diameter and stool height are all set by you and confirmed in writing before we cut timber. Send us your available space and our team will propose balanced proportions.

As built it is fixed in its frame on a shaped plinth. We can mount it on pivots so it tilts, raise or lower it on the plinth, or supply it as a separate wall-hung frame - tell us which suits you before production.

Yes. The quilted covering shown is one option - send us a fabric, a colour or a photograph of your room and we will upholster the stool to match, with the quilting kept or left plain.

A 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery, including the fluted legs and the shaped top, and a lifetime warranty against termite damage on the teak. Send your order details and photographs if anything needs attention.
