Lighting is the thing most dressing tables get wrong, and it is worth understanding before you choose one.

A ceiling light sits above and behind you, so it throws your own shadow onto your face. A lamp on the table lights you from below. Neither is any use for the work people actually do at a mirror. Light at face height, coming from both sides, is the arrangement that works - it fills in shadows rather than casting them.

That is what the two carved arms on this piece are for. They are wired to your requirement: we can bring the cable out at the back for a wall socket, run it down a leg, or set a switch into the frame. Tell us how the room is wired and we will build to it. Choose whatever bulbs you prefer - warm light is generally kinder for this than cool.

Sizes, drawer layout and finish are all yours. Send us the wall and your height and we build to both. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed with you in writing before production begins.

Solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty, everything is covered for life against termite damage, and delivery anywhere in India is free with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

Theatre dressing rooms solved this problem a century ago and everyone else has been ignoring the answer ever since. Bulbs ringed around a mirror at face height, close in, throwing light onto the face from every direction at once - it looks theatrical because it is, and it works because shadows have nowhere to fall.

Domestic furniture rarely copies it directly, partly because a ring of exposed bulbs suits a dressing room and not a bedroom. The compromise that does work is two lights, one on each side, level with the face. Two sources from opposite directions cancel each other's shadows, which is the whole principle.

Our master Indian artisans carve the arms as part of the mirror frame rather than fixing brackets to it afterwards, so the wiring runs inside the carved section and nothing is visible. It means the position has to be right before the frame is cut - which is why we ask your seated height at the design stage rather than after.

Material: Solid teak throughout, including carcass, drawer boxes, pedestals, mirror frame and carved light arms.

Lighting: Two light fittings carried on carved scroll arms integral to the mirror frame, set at seated face height, with wiring run inside the carved sections. Cable exit and switch position built to your requirement.

Mirror: Wide arched centre panel with a narrower shaped panel angled inward on each side.

Storage: Four shallow carved drawers set into the frieze beneath the top, and a pedestal cupboard at each end. Interiors arranged to what you keep.

Kneehole: Open between the pedestals, with a pierced carved apron spanning it.

Detail: Carved scroll brackets at the outer corners, carved rosettes on the pedestal faces, gilded pulls.

Finish: Ivory with gold-picked carving as shown, and available in white, champagne, walnut, espresso or natural teak.

Sizes: Custom sizes made to order, including seated height - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The light fittings are removed and packed separately in their own padded box, with the carved arms then protected as bare carving - glass globes and shaped teak want completely different handling.

The mirror panels travel in their own rigid crates, each faced with foam board and edge-guarded around its full shaped profile, with the two angled side panels packed separately from the centre.

The carcass travels with drawers secured shut, carved drawer fronts protected, the bowed top edge-guarded, and the pierced kneehole apron foam-faced from both sides.

Carved scroll brackets at the outer corners are collared individually - they project furthest and take knocks first. Ivory and gilded surfaces are covered in a soft non-abrasive layer.

Everything is crated together with handling instructions and the wiring diagram for your piece included. Every photograph here shows the actual furniture before packing - not a render.

Delivery is free anywhere in India and included in the price you are quoted, with no freight, packing or handling charge added later.

Production begins once your sizes, seated height, wiring layout and finish are confirmed in writing. We give you a realistic timeline then and send photographs of your own dressing table as the carving is cut and the arms fitted.

On arrival the table is carried in and levelled, the mirror panels mounted and their angles set with you seated, and the light fittings installed and the cable run to your chosen exit point. Final connection to your mains should be done by your own electrician - we position and terminate the cable, they make the connection. We guarantee dent-free arrival, and if anything is not right, tell us and we will make it right.

The solid teak carcass and joinery are covered for 20 years - the carcass, the drawer boxes, the pedestals, the mirror frame and the carved light arms.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with it for as long as you own the piece, backed by teak's own resistance and confirmed in writing.

Light fittings are a serviceable part like any other and can be replaced or upgraded at any point. Because the wiring runs inside the carved arms, we set it up so it can be drawn through and renewed without disturbing the carving - and we keep the layout for your exact piece on file, so anyone working on it later knows where the cable runs.

Mirror glass is replaceable to its shaped profiles, drawer runners and pulls to your piece, and the finish cleaned back and re-laid. Our own master Indian artisans do the work and explain what it involves before starting.
