This marble top dressing table is built on a solid teak carcass hand-carved by master Indian artisans, finished in white with gilded ornament and made entirely to your measurements.

Three things define it: the shaped marble top, the six drawers split across two pedestals, and the tall gilded openwork mirror that carries the height.

The stone is chosen with you. Veining varies from slab to slab, so we can work to a white-and-grey marble as photographed, a warmer cream, a heavier vein or a plain stone if you want the carving to lead. The timber beneath is machined to the stone rather than the other way round.

Every dimension is open - width, depth, table height, mirror height, drawer depths - and the gilding can run across all the carving as shown or be limited to the mirror and the drawer cartouches. Photographs on this page show the piece our artisans actually made, not a computer render.

Look at the mirror and notice what is not there: the glass stops well short of the frame's outer edge on every side. The gilded scrollwork does not hug the mirror, it flies out past it, so the silhouette on the wall is far larger than the reflective area inside it.

That is a deliberate old trick and it solves a real problem. A mirror sized to fill its frame gives you a large bright rectangle that dominates a room and flattens everything around it. Pushing the ornament outward instead lets the frame occupy the wall while the glass stays a comfortable, human size - large enough to dress by, small enough that the room is not competing with its own reflection.

Building it that way is the hard part. Openwork carried far beyond the glass has no backing panel to hold it, so each scroll has to be planned as a structural chain running from the mirror body outward and back. Our carvers lay the whole silhouette out first, decide where the load paths run, then cut - working the outermost curls before the frame becomes too fragile to handle, and leaving the pierced crest for last.

Material: Solid teak carcass, drawer boxes, mirror frame and stool frame with a natural marble top. No veneer over engineered board.

Top: Serpentine-cut marble, hand-dressed to the shaped carcass beneath. Stone type and veining chosen with you.

Construction: Hand-carved gilt cartouches and ribbon panels, shaped pedestal sides, carved scroll feet, gilded openwork mirror frame with pierced crest carried beyond the glass.

Storage: Three drawers in each pedestal. Counts, depths and internal fittings are configurable.

Finish: White with gold-leafed carving as photographed. Any base tone and gilding level can be specified.

Stool: Carved and gilded frame with upholstered seat, included. Fabric is your choice.

Dimensions: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Made: Handcrafted Indian luxury, produced to order by master Indian artisans.

The gilded openwork mirror is the most delicate thing in this set and is packed first and alone. A rigid backing board is fitted behind the full frame so no scroll can flex, then contoured foam is set against the frame body only - every projecting curl and the pierced crest sit in air rather than under pressure, because burnished leaf marks under load long before timber would.

The marble top travels on edge in its own braced crate, faced on both sides and cushioned continuously along the serpentine edge, which is where stone chips if it is allowed to move at all.

Both pedestals are wrapped in a soft, lint-free layer laid on without tension, then foamed with additional thickness over the carved cartouches, the ribbon panels and the scroll feet. Drawers are removed or secured shut so nothing can strike a gilded front.

The stool is wrapped separately with its seat covered and its carved legs padded one by one. Everything then goes into rigid outer cartons braced against internal movement, and we guarantee the set arrives dent-free.

Delivery is free across India, with no distance surcharge and nothing added at the end. Metros, tier-two cities and smaller towns are served on identical terms.

Production begins once your dimensions, marble selection, carving depth, gilding level and stool fabric are confirmed in writing. Gilding needs curing time between stages and stone dressing cannot be hurried, so we give you an honest timeline then and keep you updated as the set moves through carving, gilding, stone fitting and assembly.

Dispatch is through carriers experienced with gilded, carved, mirrored and stone-topped furniture, with tracking details sent when the set leaves us.

On arrival our team positions both pedestals, levels them, sets and beds the marble top, mounts the mirror, places the stool and removes all packaging. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed - if anything is not right, tell us and we will resolve it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - both pedestals, all six drawer boxes, the carved feet, the mirror frame and the stool frame.

The openwork mirror is fully inside that cover, and it is worth saying why we can offer it. Because every scroll is cut from solid teak with the grain planned along the load path rather than assembled from applied pieces, the frame holds itself as one continuous structure. There are no glued-on extensions waiting to part company.

The teak carries a lifetime warranty against termite damage for as long as you own the set, coming from the oils in the timber rather than the finish over it - so it holds beneath both the white ground and the gilding.

If anything covered needs attention, send us your order details and photographs and the artisans who carved and gilded the piece will arrange the repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

The stone is chosen with you. White and grey veined marble as photographed, warmer cream stones, heavier veining or a plain stone if you want the carving to lead - we can also work in granite or other natural stone. Because veining varies slab to slab, we confirm the selection before cutting.

Yes. The same carcass can be topped in solid teak, finished to match or contrast with the body, or in a different stone. Tell us which you prefer and we will build the carcass to suit that top.

Six as shown, three in each pedestal. We can change the count, deepen individual drawers, fit jewellery trays or dividers inside, or add a lockable drawer for valuables.

It is hand-applied leaf laid over a prepared ground, pressed into the carving and burnished by hand rather than a sprayed metallic paint. That is why the reflection varies across the relief instead of looking uniform.

Yes. Gild all the carving as shown, limit it to the mirror and drawer cartouches, switch to silver or champagne leaf, or leave the piece entirely in a painted finish. It is decided with you before work begins.

Any size that suits your room. Width, depth, table height, mirror height and drawer depths are all set by you and confirmed in writing before production. Send us your wall dimensions and our team will propose balanced proportions.

Yes, the carved and gilded stool is part of the set, and you choose the upholstery - send us a fabric, a colour or a photograph of your room. Its height is matched to your table height.

A 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery, including the openwork mirror frame and all six drawer boxes, and a lifetime warranty against termite damage on the teak. Send your order details with photographs if anything needs attention.
