A classic dressing table in solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans in cream with gold-picked carving, made entirely to your measurements and supplied with a matching stool.

Six drawers across two pedestals give it real capacity, and the framed drawer fronts are what keep that capacity from looking heavy.

The mirror is built tall and fully pierced, so it fills the wall above the table without adding visual weight, and the two small candle arms at its base are a period detail we build as functional rather than decorative.

The darker figured panels can be kept as shown, matched to the cream body for a single-tone piece, or run in a different contrast entirely - it changes the character of the vanity completely without changing the form.

Photographs on this page show the actual set our artisans produced, not a computer render.

Frame-and-panel is the oldest solution in cabinetmaking to a problem that has nothing to do with looks.

A wide flat board of any timber wants to move across its grain with the seasons - swelling in humid months, shrinking in dry ones. Fix that board rigidly into a drawer front and it will eventually split, because it cannot expand and something has to give.

The answer, arrived at centuries ago, is to build the front as a frame with a panel sitting loose inside a groove. The frame is narrow in every direction, so it barely moves. The panel floats - free to expand and contract inside its groove without pushing against anything. Nothing splits, and the front stays flat for centuries.

What began as engineering turned out to be good design as well. The frame gives the carver a defined border to run a gilt line and a carved edge along, and the panel gives the maker a place to use a piece of more strongly figured timber that would be too busy across a whole front.

So the two-tone drawer fronts here are not a decorative scheme applied to a plain box. They are what the construction naturally produces when it is done the way it has always been done - and our artisans still cut the grooves and float the panels the same way.

Material: Solid teak throughout - pedestals, all six drawer boxes, frames and panels, top, mirror frame, feet and stool frame. No veneer over engineered board.

Construction: Frame-and-panel drawer fronts with floating panels in grooved frames, hand-carved gilt borders, carved knee apron with oval medallion, fully pierced openwork mirror frame with carved crest and candle arms, openwork pedestal carving on scrolled feet.

Storage: Three drawers in each pedestal. Counts, depths and internal fittings are configurable.

Finish: Cream body with gold-picked carving and contrasting figured panels, as photographed. Any tone pairing can be specified.

Stool: Carved frame with shaped upholstered seat, included. Fabric is your choice.

Dimensions: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Made: Handcrafted Indian luxury, produced to order by master Indian artisans.

The pierced mirror is the most fragile element and travels alone. A rigid board is fitted behind the entire frame so no scroll can flex, the glass is faced, and contoured foam bears on the frame body while every projecting curl and the deep crest sit clear in air. Both candle arms are removed, wrapped and packed with their fittings labelled.

Each pedestal is wrapped in a soft, lint-free layer laid on without tension so nothing burnishes the cream ground, then foamed with extra thickness over the gilt drawer borders and the openwork carving down the outer faces. The scrolled feet, which sit lowest and meet trolleys first, get their own rigid guards.

All six drawers are removed or secured shut so nothing can run out and strike a gilded border. The carved knee apron is bridged rather than pressed.

The stool travels in its own box with the seat covered and its carved legs padded one by one.

Everything then goes into rigid, internally braced outer cartons. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed, and our team assembles the vanity in your room.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with no distance surcharge and nothing added at the end. Metros, tier-two cities and smaller towns are served on the same terms.

Production begins once your dimensions, drawer layout, panel treatment, carving depth, finish and stool fabric are confirmed in writing. Pierced carving and gilding are both slow stages, so we give you an honest timeline then and keep you updated as the set moves through carving, panel fitting, painting, gilding and assembly.

We dispatch through carriers experienced with carved, gilded and mirrored furniture, and send tracking details as soon as the set leaves us.

On arrival our team positions and levels both pedestals, joins the top, mounts the mirror, fits the candle arms, places the stool and removes every piece of packaging. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed - if anything is not right, tell us and we will resolve it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - both pedestals, all six drawer boxes and their framed fronts, the top, the carved apron, the mirror frame with its candle arms, the scrolled feet and the stool.

Frame-and-panel fronts are the part of this piece most likely to still be flat and unsplit in twenty years, and that is by construction rather than by luck. Each panel floats loose in its groove so it can move with the seasons without pushing against the frame around it - the failure mode that splits a rigid one-piece front simply does not exist here.

The pierced mirror frame is covered on the same basis. Every scroll is cut from solid teak with the grain planned along the load path, so the openwork holds itself as one continuous structure.

The teak carries a lifetime warranty against termite damage for as long as you own the set, from the oils in the timber rather than the finish over them.

If anything covered needs attention, send us your order details and photographs and our artisans will handle the repair or replacement.
