A dresser like this does the work of a chest of drawers and a mirror together, which is why it suits a bedroom where wall space is limited but floor space along one wall is not.

The internal layout is yours to set. Tell us what you keep in a bedroom - folded clothes, linen, jewellery, documents - and we arrange the drawers and cupboards around it: deep drawers for clothes, shallow divided ones for small things, hanging or shelved cupboards at the ends. Nothing about the exterior changes.

Send us the wall length and we build the width to it. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed with you in writing before production begins.

Ivory panels with gold carving are shown; the same design is made in white, champagne, walnut, espresso or natural teak, with the gold heavier, finer or omitted.

The mirror can be supplied fixed to the dresser as shown, or as a separate wall-mounted piece if you would rather hang it.

This is handcrafted Indian luxury from master Indian artisans. Solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty, everything is covered for life against termite damage, and delivery anywhere in India is free with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

The dresser and the dressing table get confused constantly, and they are different pieces of furniture solving different problems. A dressing table is low, has a kneehole, and is used sitting down - it is for the slow business of hair and jewellery. A dresser is worktop height with no kneehole, used standing, and its mirror is wide rather than tall.

That width is the point. A tall narrow mirror shows you and nothing else; a wide one shows the room behind you, which is how you check what you are wearing against the light from the window, or see someone come in.

The stepped front is the other decision worth naming. A run of storage this long, built flat, reads as a wall of cupboard - so the centre section is brought forward and the ends returned, which breaks the length into three planes. Our master Indian artisans set those steps shallow, an inch or two, because the effect works by shadow rather than by depth and a bigger step would make the piece look assembled from parts.

Material: Solid teak throughout, including carcass, drawer boxes, cupboard doors, mirror frame and legs.

Mirror: Broad shaped panel rising to a carved centre crest, with pierced gold carving falling away on both sides. Fixed to the dresser as shown, or supplied as a separate wall-mounted piece.

Front: Panelled drawer and cupboard fronts - ivory fields in gold carved cartouche frames - with the run stepping forward at the centre and returning at both ends.

Storage: Drawers and cupboards arranged to what you keep; deep drawers, shallow divided drawers, hanging or shelved cupboards all available.

Apron: Deep gold scrollwork running the full width and continuing round the returns.

Legs: Carved cabriole legs.

Finish: Ivory with gold carving as shown, and available in white, champagne, walnut, espresso or natural teak, with gilding heavier, finer or omitted.

Sizes: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The mirror travels in its own rigid crate, glass faced with foam board and the shaped frame edge-guarded around its full profile, with the pierced side carving supported from both faces. Fixings are packed separately and fitted during installation.

The carcass travels with all drawers secured shut and cupboard doors held closed, the moulded top edge-guarded along its full length, and the stepped front protected at every change of plane where the corners sit proudest.

The deeply carved apron runs the width of the piece at knee height, which is exactly where trolleys catch, so it is protected from beneath as well as around.

Cabriole legs are collared individually. Ivory and gilded surfaces are covered first in a soft non-abrasive layer, since pale finishes and fine gilding both mark under friction.

Everything is crated together with handling instructions. Every photograph here shows the actual furniture before packing - not a render.

Delivery is free anywhere in India and included in the price you are quoted, with no freight, packing or handling charge added later.

Production begins once your sizes, internal layout and finish are confirmed in writing. We give you a realistic timeline then and send photographs of your own dresser as the carving is cut and the finish built up.

On arrival the dresser is carried in and set in place, levelled against your floor - important on a piece this wide, since a long carcass on an uneven floor will bind its drawers - and the mirror mounted and squared. We guarantee dent-free arrival, and if anything is not right, tell us and we will make it right.

The solid teak carcass and joinery are covered for 20 years - the carcass, the drawer boxes, the cupboard carcasses, the mirror frame, the apron and the legs.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with it for as long as you own the piece, backed by teak's own resistance and confirmed in writing.

A dresser this wide carries real weight once it is loaded, and the load sits on the legs rather than on a plinth - so the leg joints are cut deeper than they would be on a shorter piece, and the apron is a structural rail as well as a carved one. That is what the warranty stands behind.

Drawer runners, hinges and pulls are replaceable, mirror glass can be re-cut to the exact shaped profile we hold on file, and the finish cleaned back and re-laid. Our own master Indian artisans do the work and explain what it involves before starting.
