A console dressing table suits a room where you want the wall to stay visible. With no drawers and an open base, it takes up almost no visual space, and it pairs naturally with a chest of drawers elsewhere in the room doing the storing.

If you would rather have storage here as well, we build the same design with a shallow drawer set into the apron - deep enough for brushes, jewellery and everyday things without changing the open look of the piece. Tell us at the design stage.

Heights are set to you: the table so your elbows rest comfortably when seated, the chairs to the table, and the mirror mounted where you actually need it rather than where the furniture dictates.

Send us the wall length and we build the width to it. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed with you in writing before production begins.

The pale finish and stone top shown are one combination; any teak tone, painted finish, stone or a solid teak top are all available, and the chairs are upholstered in any fabric.

Solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty, everything is covered for life against termite damage, and delivery anywhere in India is free with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

A stretcher between the legs of a table is one of those details that people read as decoration and that started as pure engineering. A table with four legs and no box above them is a parallelogram waiting to happen - push it sideways and it racks. Joining the legs low down with a rail triangulates the structure and stops it.

Early tables used a plain H or X of timber. Once the problem was solved, carvers began treating the stretcher as a place to show off, because it sits at eye level when you are seated and it is one of the few parts of a table you look at directly.

The shaped serpentine stretcher on this piece, meeting at a carved finial in the centre, is both things at once - it locks the legs and it gives the space under the table something to resolve into. Our master Indian artisans cut it from stock deep enough that the curves do not create short grain at the turns, which is where a shaped stretcher fails if it is made from thin material.

Material: Solid teak throughout, including legs, apron, stretcher, mirror frame and chairs.

Top: Pale stone slab with a moulded edge; solid teak top available instead.

Base: Four carved cabriole legs joined by a shaped serpentine stretcher meeting at a carved centre finial; deep carved apron in scroll and shell.

Storage: Open as shown; a shallow drawer can be built into the apron without changing the open look.

Mirror: Tall arched panel in a carved frame with a crest and pierced carving down both sides. Wall-mounted, with height set to you.

Chairs: Two shield-backed chairs upholstered on carved cabriole legs, seat height set to the finished table.

Finish: Pale carved finish as shown, and available in any teak tone or painted finish.

Sizes: Custom sizes made to order, including table, chair and mirror heights - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The stone top travels separately in a purpose-built crate, edge-protected all round and supported flat - stone is strong in compression and weak in bending, and a slab carried on edge or unsupported in the middle is how tops break.

The table base travels with its carved apron protected from beneath as well as around, its cabriole legs collared individually along their curves, and the shaped stretcher supported along its full length.

The mirror travels in its own rigid crate, glass faced with foam board and the carved frame edge-guarded, with the pierced side carving supported from both faces. Wall fixings are packed separately.

The chairs travel whole with seats bagged and legs collared. Pale finishes are covered first in a soft non-marking layer.

Everything is crated together with handling instructions. Every photograph here shows the actual furniture before packing - not a render.

Delivery is free anywhere in India and included in the price you are quoted for the set, with no freight, packing or handling charge added later.

Production begins once your sizes, top choice, fabric and finish are confirmed in writing. We give you a realistic timeline then and send photographs of your own furniture as the carving is cut and the finish built up.

On arrival the table base is set and levelled first, then its stone top placed - a stone-topped table should never be carried assembled. The mirror is wall-mounted at the height you want, with you standing or sitting at the table so it is set where you will actually use it, and the chairs are placed and checked against the finished table height. Tell us your wall type when you order so the right fixings come with the team. We guarantee dent-free arrival, and if anything is not right, tell us and we will make it right.

The solid teak frame and joinery are covered for 20 years - the legs, the apron, the stretcher, the mirror frame and both chairs.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with it for as long as you own the piece, backed by teak's own resistance and confirmed in writing.

On an open table the leg-to-apron joints and the stretcher joints carry everything, and they are cut deep for it. Chairs get moved constantly and are built to the same standard rather than lighter.

Stone tops can be replaced if one is ever damaged - we cut a new slab to the exact dimensions we hold on file. Mirror glass is replaceable to its arched profile, chair seats re-coverable, and the finish cleaned back and re-laid. Our own master Indian artisans do the work and explain what it involves before starting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

It is open as shown, which is what keeps it light in a room. We can build a shallow drawer into the apron - deep enough for brushes and jewellery - without changing the open look. Tell us at the design stage.

So its height is set to you rather than to the furniture. We mount it during installation with you standing or sitting at the table, which is the only way to get it right.

Yes. Stone is cool and indifferent to spilled scent or a hot styling tool; a solid teak top is warmer in appearance and can be sanded back and re-polished if it ever marks. We will show you both.

Yes, two matching chairs come with the set, with seat height set against the finished table rather than to a standard measurement.

It is a stretcher. A table with legs and no carcass will rack sideways without one, so it locks the structure - and because it sits at eye level when you are seated, it is carved rather than plain.

Yes. Tell us your height and we set the table so your elbows rest comfortably when seated, then set the chairs to the table.

The pale carved finish shown, plus any teak tone from honey to espresso, or painted finishes in white, ivory or champagne. The chairs are upholstered in any fabric you choose.

The solid teak frame and joinery of every piece are covered for 20 years, and there is a lifetime warranty against termite damage. Delivery across India is free, with guaranteed dent-free arrival.
