A bar cabinet is a display cabinet that has to carry real weight. A row of full bottles is several times heavier than a row of ornaments, and that changes how the inside has to be built even though the outside looks the same.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans and finished in ivory. A glazed display section sits above a carved bombe base with drawers and cupboards.

The glazing runs round the ends as well as the front, so bottles are seen from the side too and light travels through the cabinet.

Every cabinet is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, shelf spacing and loading, drawer and cupboard layout, lighting and finish are all specified by you, with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

Most glass shelves in display cabinets are designed for objects. A bar shelf is designed for bottles, and the difference is not small - a row of full bottles across a shelf is a serious distributed load, applied continuously for years.

Two things change. The first is thickness: a bar shelf is specified thicker than a curio shelf of the same span, because glass deflects, and a shelf that sags a millimetre looks fine on day one and looks wrong after a year of standing bent.

The second, and the one that actually matters, is how it is carried. The usual method is four small pegs, one near each corner. That is adequate for light objects and it is the wrong answer under a bar load, because the whole weight of the shelf and everything on it is concentrated at four points - and the point where glass is weakest is a point.

So our master Indian artisans support bar shelves on continuous rails running the full depth at each side. The load is spread along the entire edge instead of being gathered into four spots, the deflection is halved, and the glass is never asked to bear on anything sharp.

You cannot see the difference when the cabinet is empty. You can see it very clearly ten years after it was filled.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Configuration: glazed display section in four bays with an arched centre and glazed ends; carved bombe base with stacked centre drawers and cupboards to either side.

Shelving: glass shelves specified for bar loading and carried on continuous side rails rather than corner pegs.

Interior: shelf spacing, drawer count and cupboard fitting planned with you; interior lighting available.

Carving and finish: pierced carved crest, carved bombe base and door panels, carved feet; ivory finish with the carving read by shadow, sealed for durability.

Construction: upper and lower sections separate for delivery.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The two sections travel separately so neither carries the other's weight.

Glass shelves come out and travel flat, interleaved and edge-guarded - bar shelves are thicker and heavier than ordinary display shelves, so they are packed individually rather than stacked.

Glazed doors are secured closed, braced and protected across each pane. Drawers and cupboard doors are secured shut and blocked.

A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the ivory finish first, since a pale ground shows a rub immediately, and the carving is protected with foam shaped around it rather than pressed onto it - on this piece the relief reads by shadow, so a flattened edge would be visible.

The bombe front is supported along its curve, and each carved foot is protected separately.

Each section enters its own rigid crate with cushioning, corner protection and strapping. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every cabinet is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions, your shelf and storage layout and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. The two-part construction means a tall cabinet gets into rooms a single-piece one could not.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling carved furniture and glass. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the base is levelled first, then the upper section is lifted on and the shelves fitted - a bar cabinet standing out of level puts an uneven load on its shelves, so this step matters.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the cabinet reaches you - both sections, the glazed door construction and hinging, the glazing housings, the shelf rails, the drawer runners, the cupboard doors, and the cornice and crest joints.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, drawers, backs and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Shelf performance under load is explicitly covered: a shelf that deflects or fails under normal bar use is a specification fault and ours to correct. Glazed door alignment and drawer running are covered too. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.
