An antique style wardrobe gives you the proportions and detailing of an older piece with new joinery, a planned interior and a warranty behind it - which is generally what people want when they say they like antiques.

This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans. Figured door panels carry light inlaid sprays, carved half columns divide the front, and an arched cornice runs pierced scrollwork across the top.

The finish is a deep warm polish with pale gold on the ornament.

Every wardrobe is made to order and fully customisable. Width, height, depth, door count, inlay design, finish and interior layout are all specified by you, with custom sizes made to order and dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

The solid teak carcass and joinery carry a 20-year warranty plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, guaranteed dent-free.

The half columns standing between the doors of this wardrobe are doing something quietly clever, and it has nothing to do with decoration.

Every wardrobe has a vertical gap where a door meets the frame beside it. On a plain wardrobe that gap is a thin dark line running the full height, and there are several of them across the front. They are unavoidable - a door has to have clearance to swing - and they are the detail that most makes a wardrobe look like a wardrobe rather than like a cabinet.

Attach a half round column over the frame at that point, projecting forward of the door face, and the gap disappears from view. It is still there, doing its job; it simply now lies behind the column's shadow, where the eye cannot find it from the front or from an angle.

So our master Indian artisans set the column's diameter from the gap it has to cover and the angle it has to cover it from, not from a pattern book. Too slender and the line reappears when you stand to one side. The turned capital and base are added afterwards; they are the part that looks like the point, and they are not.

Material: solid teak carcass, doors and frame, hand-carved. No veneer over board, no engineered board.

Configuration: four doors with carved half columns between and beside them, concealing the door gaps from view.

Panels: figured timber panels with light inlaid sprays at their centres.

Carving: arched cornice with a run of pierced scrollwork, turned column capitals and bases, beaded panel surrounds, turned bun feet.

Handles: pendant tassel handles.

Finish: deep warm polish with pale gold on the ornament and beading, sealed for durability.

Interior: planned to your requirements - long and short hanging, shelving, drawers, shoe storage, lockable compartments.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including access dimensions.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak carcass and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

The half columns project further forward than any other part of this wardrobe's front, which makes them the first thing a crate wall would meet. Each is wrapped along its full length and given shaped protection at its capital and base, where the turned detail is most vulnerable.

All doors are secured closed and braced so nothing can swing or work against its hinges, and the pendant handles are secured so they cannot swing and tap against the doors in transit.

A soft, clean non-abrasive layer goes against the polished surfaces first - a deep polish shows a scuff as a bright mark in the grain.

The arched cornice with its pierced scrollwork receives its own shaped protection, as does each bun foot.

The carcass enters a rigid outer crate with cushioning on every face, corner protection at all eight corners, and strapping that prevents movement. This is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free across India - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Because every wardrobe is made to order, we confirm your finished dimensions and your access dimensions - doorway widths, stair turns, lift size - in writing before production begins. Where access requires it, the wardrobe is built to knock down into sections that assemble in the room, with the cornice fitted on site so its scrollwork run stays continuous.

Once complete it is packed as described and dispatched with a carrier used to handling large carved furniture. You are contacted ahead of delivery so someone can be present.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If any transit damage has occurred, photograph it while the delivery team is present and contact us - we will resolve it.

The solid teak carcass and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty from the day the wardrobe reaches you - the frame, the door construction and hinging, the half columns and their fixings, the cornice joints and the turned feet.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Because the piece is seasoned solid teak throughout - carcass, doors, panels, backs and internal fittings - there is no board core anywhere for insects to reach, and the timber's own oils deter them.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Door alignment is covered. A polished piece is among the most straightforward to repair well: carved and turned elements are re-made from teak of matching tone and polished in, and because the finish is in the timber rather than over it, a repair blends as the wood colours. Both warranties apply anywhere in India.

They look decorative and they are also practical: each half column stands proud of the door face and conceals the vertical gap where the door meets the frame, so the front reads as continuous rather than as a row of doors.
