A cream and gold TV table in carved teak, on cabriole legs with two drawers, an open media bay and a carved apron, hand-made to order by Brown Rabbit.

The raised height is the reason to choose this over a low console. It suits rooms where the seating is generous and high-armed, because the screen needs to sit higher to clear the back of a deep sofa - and it makes cleaning underneath a simple matter rather than a project.

It also suits a room with a rug. A piece on legs lets a rug run underneath and read as one continuous floor, where a plinth-based cabinet cuts the rug off at its edge.

Length is drawn to your screen and wall, drawer sizes to what you keep, and the cream can be taken warmer or cooler with the gilding extended or reduced. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production.

A cabriole leg is a curve that has to be cut out of a straight block, and there is only one honest way to do it.

The shape is drawn on two adjacent faces of the square blank - the front and the side - and the leg is cut on one face first. The waste that falls away is then taped back on, because it carries the second drawing, and the blank is turned ninety degrees and cut again. Remove the tape and a leg that curves in two directions at once falls out of the block.

Which way the grain runs through that block is what decides whether the leg survives. The ankle, where the curve is narrowest, is the weak point, and our artisans orient the blank so the grain runs down through the ankle rather than across it. A leg cut with the grain running the wrong way looks identical on the day it is made and breaks the first time the piece is dragged across a floor.

The carving on the knee goes on last, once the leg has been shaped and the joints cut, so that a heavy day at the bench cannot damage work already finished.

Material: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans.

Structure: carved cabriole legs cut from square blanks with the grain oriented through the ankle; carcass with two drawers and a central open media bay; carved apron across the full width.

Finish: hand-applied cream with gilded highlights on the carving, mouldings and drawer surrounds; tone and gilding balance adjustable.

Services: cable routes and ventilation cut to suit your equipment and outlet positions.

Options: drawer depths and bay divisions planned to your list; height adjustable to suit your seating.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are photographs of the actual product, not renders.

On a piece that stands on legs, the legs are what a crate finds first - and a cabriole leg is narrowest at exactly the point most likely to be struck.

So each leg is wrapped along its full length and then blocked within the crate so the table's weight rests on its frame rather than on its feet in transit.

The pale painted surfaces are faced with a clean non-transferring layer before any foam goes on, and the gilded apron carving is capped with shaped foam so nothing bears on the scrollwork.

Drawers travel closed and restrained. The table then goes into laminated foam, bubble wrap and a fitted wooden crate, marked for orientation. Multi-layer protective packaging is standard and dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Free delivery anywhere in India is included in the price - no separate freight charge, no distance loading, no surcharge for a smaller town.

Production begins once your dimensions, height, internal layout and finish are confirmed in writing. You get a realistic production window at that stage and updates as the piece moves through leg shaping, carving, finishing and crating.

The shipment is tracked and our team stays reachable throughout. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed and it is ours to honour.

Tell us your doorway, stair and lift dimensions when you order and we plan the crate and route around them before the piece leaves the workshop.

The solid teak frame and its joinery carry a 20-year Brown Rabbit warranty - the legs and their joints into the carcass, the apron rails, the carcass itself and the drawer construction.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the table for as long as you own it, backed by teak's natural termite resistance and set down in writing.

Drawers are fitted by hand and can be adjusted over the years as solid timber settles, which is ordinary behaviour rather than a fault. The cream ground and the gilding are hand-applied and carry the variations that implies.

Written warranty terms are issued with your order so the cover is agreed before production begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

It sits higher, which suits deep high-armed seating where the screen needs to clear the sofa back, and it lets a rug run underneath so the floor reads as continuous. It is also far easier to clean under.
