Wide Carved Teak Pooja Mandir with Three Domes

This is a wide floor-standing pooja mandir in solid teak, finished in a deep polish. Three carved domes rise along the roofline with birds worked onto their ribs and finials above, over a deep carved cornice and a cusped pelmet hung with turned drops that runs the full width. Slender turned columns carry the canopy at the front, with carved brackets at their heads and carved figures at their bases.

Behind the platform, the back is a broad field of book-matched teak left plain, so the deities stand clear against it. The base is shaped as a breakfront, stepping forward at the centre so three drawers sit proud of the carved cupboards either side, all on a moulded carved plinth. Every Brown Rabbit mandir is made to order, so the width, the back panel treatment, the storage layout and the finish are agreed with you before production and every dimension confirmed in writing. The solid teak and its joinery carry a 20-year warranty, termite damage is covered for the life of the piece, delivery anywhere in India is free, and dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Carving at the Crown and the Base, Calm in Between

There is a great deal of carving on this mandir, and where it sits is the whole design. The crown carries the three domes with birds worked onto their ribs, the deep cornice and a cusped pelmet hung with drops across the full width. The base carries the carved cupboard panels, the drawer fronts and the moulded plinth. Between them, at exactly the height where you look, the back is one broad panel of book-matched teak left entirely plain.

That quiet centre is what makes the piece work. Carving behind the deities competes with them, and a mandir where everything is ornamented gives the eye nowhere to rest. Leaving the middle calm means the figures on the platform are what you see first when you walk into the room, with the ornament framing them from above and below. Selecting a single wide book-matched panel for that field takes careful timber selection, since the grain has to mirror cleanly across the centre line and run evenly the whole width. If you would prefer carving, a mirror or a marble insert behind the deities, we build the panel that way instead. Everything is carved and polished by hand by master Indian artisans.

Crating a Wide Mandir With Three Domes

Width is planned for from the start. The mandir is crated on a full-length rigid bed that supports the base along its entire span rather than at the corners, and the canopy section travels separately from the base cabinet so each is carried on its own structure and the piece comes into your room comfortably.

The three domes and their finials stand at the highest points, so a rigid frame guard bridges above the whole roofline and every finial is individually wrapped beneath it, with the carved birds on the dome ribs contour-padded so nothing bears on the relief. The turned drops along the cusped pelmet travel with a rigid guard spanning beneath the fringe. The broad book-matched back panel is faced across its full area with a soft non-abrasive layer, since a wide flat polished field shows its quality from every angle and we keep it perfect. Drawers and cupboard doors are immobilised, and the slender turned columns are wrapped and guarded along their length. Your mandir arrives dent-free with the carving crisp and the panel unmarked.

Free Delivery Across India and On-Site Assembly

Delivery is free anywhere in India with no distance surcharge and nothing added to your invoice for freight. Production begins once your specification is confirmed, and we give you a realistic completion window at that point. If you are working towards a griha pravesh, a festival or a particular muhurat, tell us the date at enquiry and we will plan the build around it.

The mandir arrives with the canopy and base as separate sections and our team assembles and levels it in position, which brings it into the room comfortably whatever your doorway width. Share your wall width, ceiling height and the narrowest point on the route at enquiry and we will build the piece to suit. Traditionally the mandir sits in the north-east of the home with the deities facing west or east, away from bathroom walls and out of direct sunlight, and our team will help you position it to suit whatever your household observes.

Warranty on This Pooja Mandir

The solid teak and its joinery are guaranteed for 20 years from delivery, and termite damage is covered for the entire life of the piece with no expiry. On a wide mandir the rails carrying three domes across the full span do the most work, along with the breakfront carcass beneath, and both are cut and pinned into solid teak rather than screwed into board. All of it is covered for the full term, including the cupboard doors and drawer runners that are used daily. Termite cover has no end date because teak resists termites through the oils within the timber.

The polish is a serviceable surface and one of the easiest to keep looking rich. Because this mandir is polished rather than painted, the finish can be cut back and rebuilt in place at any point without stripping the piece, and a deep tone in particular rewards an occasional refresh beautifully. We do that for our own mandirs at an honest price whenever you would like it done. Keep the piece indoors, away from standing water and prolonged direct sun, and regular dusting with a soft brush will keep the carving crisp.

So the deities are what you look at. The carving is concentrated at the crown and the base, and leaving the centre as one broad field of book-matched teak gives the eye somewhere calm to rest, with the ornament framing the deities from above and below.

Yes. We carve it, fit a mirrored panel, or set marble behind the deities, whichever you prefer. Tell us at enquiry and we will make the panel that way, and the rest of the mandir stays exactly as shown.

One that steps forward at the centre, so the three drawers sit proud of the cupboards either side. It gives the piece depth along its length and puts the drawers where they are easiest to reach while you are performing puja.

The two cupboards take thalis, larger samagri boxes and books, and the three centre drawers are sized for daily items such as agarbatti, wicks, matches and kumkum. A different split, deeper cupboards or additional drawers can all be built to order.

Yes, and it is a popular choice. Marble takes hot diyas, ghee and water offerings in its stride and wipes clean in seconds. Specify it before production so the platform is framed to receive the slab.

Yes to both. Jaali panels at the sides keep air moving freely through the mandir, and jaali or glass doors give dust protection while keeping the deities visible. We build whichever combination you would like.
