A free-standing floor mirror in solid teak, hand-carved and finished in champagne gold.

The frame is worked as open rococo scrollwork - pierced right through, so the room shows between the carving on both sides of the glass.

Above, the scrolls rise into a crest that carries the mirror well above head height. Below, they spread outward into a skirt that meets the plinth.

The plate is shaped at the head and set inside the frame rather than filling it, which is what allows the carving to surround the reflection rather than border it.

Standing on its own base, the mirror needs no wall behind it. It can sit across a corner, beside a window, or at the end of a dressing area.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A mirror that stands on its own base has to solve a problem that a hung or leaning mirror never faces: it must stay upright by itself, in a room where people walk past it.

Two numbers settle it, and both are worked out from the finished height of the frame.

The first is how far the plinth reaches forward. A tall object standing on a narrow base tips at the smallest push, so the base is made deeper than the frame needs it to be - and the extra depth is disguised by moulding the plinth so it steps back as it rises, which makes the eye read a slimmer base than the mirror actually stands on.

The second is the angle. The frame is set very slightly back from vertical, not upright. That does two things: it moves the centre of gravity behind the front edge of the plinth, so any push from the front is resisted rather than assisted - and it gives a more flattering full-length reflection, because the glass looks slightly downward towards the person in front of it.

Neither is visible. Both are the reason the mirror stands as though it takes no effort.

Material: solid teak in the frame, crest, skirt, plinth and internal structure.

Frame: rococo scrollwork pierced right through, with an openwork crest above and a spreading carved skirt below.

Glass: tall mirror plate shaped at the head, set inside the carved frame.

Stance: free-standing, with the frame set slightly back from vertical and the centre of gravity behind the plinth's front edge.

Plinth: shaped and moulded base, weighted and extended forward, stepping back as it rises.

Finish: champagne gold applied by hand, raised faces burnished brighter than the grounds.

Made to order: height, width, frame openness, plinth size and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

The mirror and its plinth travel as separate items, so nothing rests on the base joint in transit.

Foam is pressed into every opening in the pierced frame so the carving is braced from behind rather than only wrapped from outside, and acid-free tissue is laid over the champagne finish before any foam touches it.

The openwork crest and the outer tips of the skirt project furthest and are each given moulded foam blocks.

The plate is taped in a grid across its face, faced with foam and covered with a rigid board cut to its shaped head.

The plinth is crated separately with its moulded edges protected.

Both crates are hardwood, corner-protected and marked for orientation and lift points. Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with guaranteed dent-free arrival. No distance charge, no size charge and no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing - and for a floor mirror we ask the ceiling height as well as the height you want, since the crest carries the frame well above the glass.

We photograph your actual mirror through the build: the frame, the piercing, the gilding, the plinth and the assembled mirror standing.

On site, our team assembles the mirror onto its plinth, checks the stance on your floor - which is what the setback angle is set against - and levels it.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch so the route can be planned. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the frame members, the crest, the skirt, the plinth and the internal structure that ties the mirror to its base.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the mirror and never expires. Teak's natural oils are its own defence and our warranty stands behind them.

The mirror plate is covered against manufacturing defect.

The joint between the frame and the plinth is the one that matters most on a free-standing mirror, and it is built and guaranteed with that in mind. The champagne finish is recorded against your order number for future matching or repair. Contact us with your order number and we will arrange it.
