A wide bevelled oval mirror in solid teak, hand-carved and finished in champagne gold.

The glass is bevelled around its whole edge, which gives the reflection a bright border and a little depth where it meets the frame.

The frame is a double ring. Outside, a plain moulded band; inside, a densely flowered band; between them, an open reveal that lets the wall show through and keeps a fairly wide frame from looking solid.

Carved cartouches at the top and base give the oval a vertical axis, and leaf clasps at the four quarter points tie the two rings together.

Its width makes it suited to a hallway console, a dining sideboard or a chimney breast.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A bevel is a piece of optics as much as decoration, and its width has to be chosen rather than defaulted to.

Grinding an angle around the edge of a plate turns that edge into a prism. Light passing through it bends, so the bevel shows a faint spectrum and reads brighter than the flat of the mirror - which is the whole reason it is done. It also stops being a true reflection: anything falling on the bevel is thrown slightly out of line with the image beside it.

So the width is a balance. Too narrow and the effect disappears, and the expense of grinding an oval bevel is wasted. Too wide and a meaningful band around the reflection is no longer usable, which matters on a mirror people actually look into rather than merely at.

We set it against the frame instead of against the glass. The bevel is proportioned to the inner carved ring next to it, so the two read as related widths - the bright band and the flowered band answering one another - and the flat of the mirror stays generous.

On an oval it is ground following the ellipse, so the band stays even where the curve tightens at the ends.

Material: solid teak in both frame rings, cartouches, clasps and back structure.

Shape: wide oval, set out as a true ellipse.

Frame: double ring - plain moulded outer band and flowered inner band - separated by an open reveal.

Glass: oval mirror plate, bevelled around its full edge, ground following the ellipse.

Carving: cartouches at the top and base, leaf clasps at the four quarter points.

Back: solid structure tying both rings and carrying the hanging fixings.

Finish: champagne gold applied by hand, raised work burnished brighter than the grounds.

Made to order: size, oval proportion, bevel width, band patterns and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A bevelled edge is the most easily chipped part of any mirror, because the glass thins to a fine arris all the way round.

So the plate is faced with foam and then edged: a soft foam strip is run around the entire bevelled perimeter before the plate goes anywhere near the crate. The face is taped in a grid so an impact cannot spread, and a rigid board cut to the oval is fitted over it.

The frame takes acid-free tissue directly against the champagne finish, then foam padding shaped to bed into the reveal between the two rings rather than pressing on either.

The cartouches and the four leaf clasps stand proudest and each is individually foam-blocked.

The mirror travels flat in a hardwood crate with corner protection and clear orientation marking. Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with guaranteed dent-free arrival. No distance charge, no size charge and no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing - and for an oval we need both height and width, since those two numbers set the ellipse. We also agree the bevel width against the frame before the glass is ground.

We photograph your actual mirror through the build: the two rings, the carving, the champagne finish, the bevelled plate and the finished mirror.

On site, our team unpacks it flat, marks the fixing positions and hangs it level - a wide oval shows any tilt immediately, so it is set with a level rather than by eye.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - both rings, the connecting structure, the cartouches, the clasps and the back fixings.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the mirror and never expires. Teak's own oils are its first protection and our warranty stands behind them.

The bevelled plate and the hanging fixings are covered against manufacturing defect. The ellipse and the bevel width used on your mirror are both recorded, so a replacement plate can be ground to match the original exactly rather than approximated.

The champagne finish is applied by hand and logged against your order for future matching. Contact us with your order number and we will arrange it.
