An antique style dressing table in solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans in a soft cream finish and made entirely to your measurements.

The round pedestal drums are what give it its period character. It is a form that belongs to the grand vanities of the early twentieth century, and it does something practical too - a round support has no corner to catch a hip or a passing sleeve, which matters on a piece you sit close to every day.

Five drawers across three levels give you separation by use: deck drawers at hand height, drum drawers for deeper contents, and a wide centre drawer for flat items.

The mirror is built wide deliberately, and it can be made taller, shaped differently or supplied as a separate wall-hung frame if you prefer.

Choose the finish, the carving depth, the drawer layout and every dimension. Photographs on this page show the actual piece our artisans produced, not a computer render.

A drum of drawers is a strange object to build. Every drawer front has to curve on the same radius, every drawer box has to be jointed into a carcass that has no flat sides, and the drawer has to run straight in and out of a cylinder - which means the opening it passes through is a curved slot, tight at the edges and generous in the middle if the geometry is even slightly off.

Then there is the support problem. A cylinder standing on a narrower circular foot is inherently a balancing act: all the weight of the drum and its contents funnels down through the waist, and there are no corner posts to help.

That is what the acanthus scroll brackets are for. They start at the top of the drum, sweep down its outside and turn inward under the base, so they pick load up high and carry it around the waist into the spread of the foot. Cut them off and the vanity would still stand, but the drum would be relying entirely on its own short stem.

Our carvers shape those brackets from solid stock with the grain running along the sweep, because the curl at the bottom is where the load turns, and a bracket with cross-grain at that point would be decoration only. Here it is doing a job.

Material: Solid teak throughout - drums, drawer boxes, shaped top, deck, brackets, feet and mirror frame. No veneer over engineered board.

Construction: Curved drum carcasses with matched-radius drawer fronts, hand-carved acanthus scroll brackets carrying load into circular feet, shaped serpentine top, deeply carved mirror crest and base sprays.

Storage: Two drawers in each drum, one deck drawer at each side and one wide centre drawer - five in total. Counts, depths and internal fittings are configurable.

Mirror: Wide shaped glass with carved crest. Any size or outline can be built.

Finish: Soft cream with carving picked out a shade deeper, as photographed. Any tone, sheen or gilding can be specified.

Dimensions: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Made: Handcrafted Indian luxury, produced to order by master Indian artisans.

Round components need packing that wraps rather than sits, because a drum has no flat face to rest on and no corner to brace against. Each pedestal is sleeved in a soft non-abrasive layer laid directly onto the cream finish, then given contoured foam following its full circumference, and cradled in shaped blocks so it cannot roll within its crate.

The carved scroll brackets project furthest and are guarded individually along their sweep, with additional protection at the curl under the base where they meet the foot.

The shaped top travels separately, cushioned continuously along its curved edge, and the mirror is crated on its own - faced, backed with a rigid board across the full frame, with the carved crest and base sprays given their own rigid guards.

Every drawer is removed or secured shut so nothing can run out of a curved opening and strike its front. All components then go into rigid, internally braced outer cartons. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed, and our team assembles the vanity in your room.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with no distance surcharge and nothing added at the end. Metros, tier-two cities and smaller towns are served on identical terms.

Production begins once your dimensions, drawer layout, carving depth and finish are confirmed in writing. Curved carcass work is slow at the bench, so we give you an honest timeline then and keep you updated as the piece moves through shaping, carving, drawer fitting, assembly and finishing.

We dispatch through carriers experienced with carved solid wood and mirrored furniture, and send tracking details as soon as the piece leaves us.

On arrival our team brings the components in, positions and levels both drums, sets the shaped top, mounts the mirror and removes every piece of packaging. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed - if anything is not right, tell us and we will resolve it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - both drums, all five drawer boxes, the shaped top, the carved brackets, the circular feet and the mirror frame.

The drums and their supports are the heart of that guarantee. Because each drum is a curved carcass shaped from solid stock and each bracket is carved with the grain running along its sweep, load passes through continuous timber fibre from the top of the drum into the foot. There is no bent laminate and no cross-grain member in the load path.

The curved drawers are covered too. Their fronts are shaped from solid teak on a matched radius rather than bent and faced, so nothing can lift or delaminate along the curve with age.

The teak carries a lifetime warranty against termite damage for as long as you own the piece, from the oils in the timber rather than the finish over them.

If anything covered needs attention, send us your order details and photographs and our artisans will arrange the repair or replacement.

A drum has no corner to catch a hip or a sleeve, which matters on furniture you sit close to daily, and it gives the piece its period character. It also lets the carved brackets sweep around the outside and carry load into the circular foot.

Five - two in each drum, one deck drawer at each side and a wide centre drawer above the knee space. Counts, depths and internal fittings can all be changed, and we can add jewellery trays or a lockable drawer.

Yes. Each front is shaped from solid teak on a matched radius rather than bent from a thin sheet over formers, so the curve is the shape of the timber itself and there is nothing that can lift or separate along it with age.

Yes. The wide shaped mirror shown gives you the room behind you as well as your own reflection, but we can build it taller, arched, oval or as a separate wall-hung frame. Our carvers adjust the crest carving to suit the new outline.

Soft cream as photographed, plus ivory, white, grey, natural teak, walnut or a custom colour you send us, in matt, satin or gloss. Gold or silver detailing on the carving can be added if you want more contrast.

We can build a matching stool or chair to the same design, finish and your chosen height and supply it with the vanity. Tell us which you prefer and the fabric you would like.

Any size that suits your room. Overall width, drum diameter, table height, knee space and mirror dimensions are all set by you and confirmed in writing before we cut timber. Send us your wall measurements and we will propose balanced proportions.

A 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery, including both drum carcasses, the carved brackets and all five drawer boxes, and a lifetime warranty against termite damage on the teak. Send your order details and photographs if anything needs attention.
