A standing table mirror in solid teak, hand-carved and gilded.

The frame is pierced rococo scrollwork, spreading well beyond the glass on every side, with a plume crest above and carved scroll feet below.

The plate is small and bevelled, framed in a beaded moulding - a face-and-shoulders mirror rather than a full-length one, which is what a table mirror is for.

It stands unaided on four points, raked slightly back so the reflection meets someone sitting in front of it.

Its scale suits a dressing table, a guest room chest, or a console beside an entrance where a hand mirror is useful.

Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A table mirror is used by someone sitting down, and that single fact sets the angle it leans at.

Stand a mirror perfectly upright on a dressing table and a seated person is looking into it from below - the reflection shows the ceiling behind them and cuts off at the chin. The instinct is to prop it, but a propped mirror slides.

So the rake is built in. The two rear scrolls of the carving are extended backwards past the frame line, forming two more contact points behind the front feet, and they are cut fractionally longer - which tips the whole frame back by a set amount.

That amount is worked out from a seated eye height at an ordinary table height, so the mirror is already looking at the person who will use it.

The rear feet are also the reason it does not rock. Four points spread front and back give the mirror a real footprint, and because they are part of the scrollwork, none of that structure is visible as legs - what you see is carving that happens to reach the surface.

Material: solid teak in the frame, crest, scrollwork and feet.

Type: standing table mirror, self-supporting on four carved contact points.

Stance: raked back by a set amount, worked out from a seated eye height at ordinary table height.

Frame: rococo scrollwork pierced right through, with a plume crest above and scrolled feet below.

Glass: bevelled plate framed by a beaded moulding.

Finish: gilded by hand, raised faces burnished brighter than the grounds.

Made to order: size, plate proportion, rake, carving and finish are all customisable. Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A standing mirror is packed lying down, and the feet are the parts protected first.

Each of the four carved contact points is individually foam-blocked, since they are slender and they carry the whole piece.

Foam is pressed into every opening in the pierced scrollwork so the carving is braced from behind, with acid-free tissue laid over the gilding first.

The plume crest is given its own moulded block.

The bevelled plate is taped in a grid across its face, edge-padded around the bevel and covered with a rigid board.

The mirror travels flat in a hardwood crate with corner protection and clear orientation marking. Multi-layer protective packaging is included on every order at no extra cost.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with guaranteed dent-free arrival. No distance charge, no size charge and no handling fee.

Production begins once your dimensions are confirmed in writing - and for a table mirror we ask the height of the surface it will stand on, so the rake can be set against a seated eye height at that height.

We photograph your actual mirror through the build: the frame, the piercing, the gilding and the finished mirror standing.

On delivery it arrives ready to stand - there is nothing to assemble and nothing to fix to a wall.

Send us lift dimensions, stair turns and doorway widths ahead of dispatch so the route can be planned. Every photograph on this page is of the actual product, not a render.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the frame, the crest, the scrollwork and the feet, along with every joint between them.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with the mirror and never expires. Teak's natural oils are its own defence and our warranty stands behind them.

The bevelled plate is covered against manufacturing defect.

The rear feet on a standing mirror take every knock the piece ever receives, and they are carved as part of the structure rather than applied - which is why they can be guaranteed with the frame. The gilding is recorded against your order number for future repair or matching. Contact us and we will arrange it.
