A natural wood console table is one finished to reveal the timber - oiled or polished rather than gilded, painted or lacquered. This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, and paired with a matching carved mirror.

Teak takes a natural finish particularly well. It has a warm honey tone with a straight, close grain, and it deepens gradually with light and age rather than greying or going blotchy.

The design is fully carved despite the quiet finish: a pierced apron, carved cabriole legs, a shaped stretcher, and a mirror frame cut through in openwork scrolls with a pierced crest.

Every set is made to order and fully customisable. Console length, depth and height, mirror height, the depth of the polish and the top material are all yours to specify. Custom sizes are made to order with dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

Both pieces carry a 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, in multi-layer protective packaging with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

Gilding forgives. Paint forgives. A natural finish forgives nothing, and that changes how the carving has to be done.

Under gold, a slightly torn leaf edge or a tool mark left in a hollow disappears - the metal reflects and the eye reads shape, not surface. Under a clear finish, every one of those marks is visible, and worse, they are magnified, because the grain runs through them and shows exactly where the tool wandered.

So our master Indian artisans finish this work off the tool. The last cut on every surface is made with a sharp gouge and left as it falls, rather than being sanded afterwards. That sounds like less work and it is considerably more: it means the final cut has to be right, because there is no correcting it.

Sanding would seem the obvious alternative and it is the wrong answer twice over. It rounds the crisp arrises that give carving its definition, and abrasive cannot reach into the recesses anyway - so it flattens the parts you can see and leaves the parts you cannot.

A clean tooled surface also takes oil more evenly than a sanded one, which is why the polish on a piece finished this way looks deep rather than sitting on top.

Material: solid teak throughout, console and mirror frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Console: shaped top over a pierced apron of scrolls and flowers, cabriole legs with carved knees and scrolled toes, shaped stretcher with a carved centre cluster.

Mirror: arched and shouldered plate in an openwork scrolled frame with a pierced crest and carved base rail.

Finish: natural teak, finished off the tool and polished to show the grain, sealed for durability.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including combined height.

Made to order: dimensions, depth of polish and top material chosen by you.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak frames and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Photography: images show the actual product, not renders.

An unfinished-looking surface is not an unprotected one, but a natural finish does show a rub differently from gilding - a scuff appears as a light patch in the grain rather than as a loss of metal. So the first layer against this piece is soft, clean and completely non-abrasive.

Foam is then shaped around the pierced apron, the carved knees and the scrolled toes rather than pressed onto them, and the stretcher cluster is given its own housing. Nothing bears on a carved edge.

The mirror travels braced across its width with the shaped plate cushioned across its whole surface, and the pierced crest supported on both faces so it cannot rock.

The top travels flat with edge guards on all four sides, packed apart from the frames. Everything enters rigid outer crates and is strapped so nothing moves. This multi-layer protective packaging is why dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free anywhere in India for the complete set - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Every set is made to order, so production begins once your dimensions, finish depth and top material are confirmed in writing. We share the timeline then and keep you updated through carving, polishing and glazing.

Crates travel together with a carrier used to handling carved furniture and mirror glass, and you are contacted before delivery so someone can be present to receive and inspect the set.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If transit damage occurs, photograph it with the delivery team present and contact us - we will resolve it. On site the top is laid onto the console and the mirror positioned above it; if you would like the mirror wall-secured, tell us before production and the fixings are built into the frame.

Twenty years on the solid teak frames and their joinery, from the day the set reaches you. On the console that covers the leg joints, the pierced apron, the stretcher connections and the seating of the top; on the mirror it covers the frame joints, the crest and the rebate holding the plate.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies to both pieces for the life of the furniture rather than a fixed number of years. Seasoned solid teak carries oils that termites avoid, and with both pieces built in teak throughout there is no board core anywhere for them to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. A natural finish is in fact the easiest to repair well: a carved element is re-cut from solid teak of matching tone and polished in, and because the finish is in the wood rather than over it, the repair blends as the timber colours. Both warranties apply anywhere in India and stay with the furniture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

No. It is finished - but finished to show the teak rather than to cover it. The surfaces are cut clean off the tool, then polished and sealed, so the grain and the carving are what you see.

Teak deepens gradually with light into a richer honey-brown. It is a slow, even change and most people prefer the older colour to the new one. It does not grey or go blotchy indoors.

Yes. The depth of the polish is yours to choose - lighter and more open, or a deeper, warmer tone. Tell us the effect you want and we will finish to it.

Yes. The identical carving can be gilded, silvered, or laid over a dark ground with gold highlights if you would rather. Just tell us before production.

A soft dry cloth on the flat surfaces and a soft dry brush through the carving. The finish is sealed, so nothing wet or abrasive is needed.

Yes. Console and mirror are built together as a set, finished to the same tone and delivered together. Either can also be ordered on its own.

20 years on the solid teak frames and joinery for both pieces, plus lifetime cover against termite damage, anywhere in India.

Yes, anywhere in India. Console, mirror and top travel in separate multi-layer protective packaging and the set is guaranteed to arrive dent-free.
