A narrow console table is one built shallow in depth, for a corridor, a landing or any wall where a standard-depth table would narrow the walking space. This one is solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, finished in champagne gilt and topped with black marble, with a matching carved mirror.

Depth is the only thing given up. The apron carries full pierced scrollwork, the legs are properly carved cabrioles, and the stretcher carries a carved shell - none of it reduced because the table is slim.

The black marble top is a deliberate choice against a pale gilt frame: it grounds the piece and hides the marks that a busy hall surface collects.

Every set is made to order and fully customisable. Length, depth, height, mirror size, marble variety and finish tone are all yours to specify, with custom sizes made to order and dimensions confirmed in writing before production.

Both pieces carry a 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery plus lifetime cover against termite damage. Delivery is free anywhere in India, in multi-layer protective packaging with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

The shell appears twice in this set - large at the top of the mirror, small at the centre of the stretcher - and that repetition is doing a specific job. It is what makes two separate objects read as one piece of furniture.

But a motif repeated identically at two sizes looks mechanical, like the same stamp pressed twice. So our master Indian artisans change it as it changes scale. The crest shell is fanned wide and cut shallow, because it sits high and is seen from below and from a distance, where a deep shell would fill with shadow and lose its shape. The stretcher shell is drawn narrower and cut deeper, because it sits low, is seen close, and needs the shadow to be visible at all near the floor.

The number of flutes changes too - fewer on the small one, so the ribs stay legible at that size rather than crowding into a texture.

The result is two shells that are recognisably the same idea and demonstrably not the same carving. The eye ties the pieces together without ever registering why.

Material: solid teak throughout, console and mirror frame, hand-carved. No veneer, no engineered board.

Console: shallow depth, pierced scrollwork apron with a central cartouche and pendant, cabriole legs with scrolled toes, shaped stretcher with a carved shell.

Top: black marble slab with a hand-moulded edge following the serpentine front.

Mirror: rectangular plate in a beaded frame with carved corner spandrels and a large carved shell crest.

Finish: hand-applied champagne gilt over the carved teak, sealed for durability, matched across both pieces.

Sizes: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production, including combined height.

Warranty: 20 years on the solid teak frames and joinery; lifetime cover against termite damage.

Photography: images show the actual product, not renders.

A shallow console is easier to carry and slightly more prone to twisting in transit, so this frame is packed with its depth supported rather than relying on the crate walls to hold it square.

The first layer against the champagne gilt is soft and non-abrasive - a pale metal finish shows a rub more readily than a deep gold. Foam is then cut around the pierced apron, the cartouche and pendant, and the scrolled toes rather than pressed onto them, and the stretcher's carved shell is given its own shaped housing.

The mirror travels braced across its width, its plate cushioned across the full surface, with shaped supports on both faces of the shell crest so it cannot rock.

The black marble goes flat on a padded board with edge guards on all four sides, packed apart from both frames. Everything enters rigid outer crates, strapped so nothing shifts. This multi-layer protective packaging is why we guarantee dent-free arrival.

Delivery is free anywhere in India for the complete set - no freight charge, no distance surcharge, and no difference between a metro address and a smaller town.

Every set is made to order, so production begins once your dimensions, marble and finish tone are confirmed in writing. We share the build timeline then and keep you updated through carving, gilding and marble fitting.

Crates travel together with a carrier used to handling carved furniture, stone and mirror glass, and you are contacted before delivery so someone can be present to receive and inspect the set.

Arrival is guaranteed dent-free. If transit damage has occurred, photograph it with the delivery team present and contact us - we will resolve it. Because the table is shallow it passes through ordinary doorways and up staircases easily, and the marble is laid onto the frame at your address rather than travelling assembled.

Twenty years on the solid teak frames and their joinery, from the day the set reaches you. On the console that covers the leg joints, the pierced apron, the stretcher connections and the marble's bed; on the mirror it covers the frame joints, the corner spandrels, the crest and the rebate.

Lifetime cover against termite damage applies to both pieces for the life of the furniture rather than a set number of years. Seasoned solid teak carries oils that termites avoid, and with both pieces built in teak throughout there is no board core anywhere for them to reach.

If a warranty issue arises, send us photographs and we will assess and repair or replace. Carved elements are re-cut from solid teak and the champagne gilt is matched to the surrounding surface, so a repair carries the same tone and the same depth of shadow as the work around it. Both warranties apply anywhere in India and stay with the furniture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

As shallow as your space needs. Tell us the depth you can give it and the design is redrawn to suit, keeping the apron carving in proportion rather than simply cropping it. Dimensions are confirmed in writing before production.

Yes. The console and the shell-crested mirror are built together as a set, finished in the same champagne gilt and delivered together. Either can also be ordered on its own.

A softer, cooler gold laid by hand over the carved teak and sealed. It reads quieter than a bright gilding and sits comfortably with greys, creams and dark stone.

It grounds a pale gilt frame and gives the design a clear horizontal line. It is also practical on a hall table, where a light stone shows every mark. You can equally have white, cream, grey or green if you prefer.

Yes. Length, depth and height are all specified by you and the apron scrollwork is laid out afresh at that size so the spacing stays right.

Either. It can stand on the console top or be fixed to the wall - tell us which before production and we build the appropriate base rail or hanging fixings.

20 years on the solid teak frames and joinery for both pieces, plus lifetime cover against termite damage, anywhere in India.

Yes, anywhere in India. Console, mirror and marble travel in separate multi-layer protective packaging and the set is guaranteed to arrive dent-free.
