A bridal chair in solid teak with white buttoned upholstery and a hand-laid gold finish, made to order by master Indian artisans. The back is very tall and waisted, deep-buttoned, with a studded line following its outline and the arm fronts.

It is made for weddings, receptions, engagement stages and photography sets, where the chair has to hold its shape against bright light and be legible from a distance. White against gold is the pairing that photographs most reliably under stage lighting, which is why the combination endures.

The same chair works afterwards in a hall or a dressing room, and many clients keep it as a single statement seat once the event is over. If you would rather it read quieter later, we can re-cover it in a different cloth at any point.

Handcrafted Indian luxury, built to your dimensions, with a 20-year warranty on the frame and joinery, lifetime termite cover, free PAN-India delivery and guaranteed dent-free arrival.

The height of a bridal chair is decided by a camera, not by a sitting position. The seat height is comfort; the back height is composition.

A photographer framing a seated couple wants the crest of the chair inside the shot, with a margin of upholstery visible above their heads so the chair frames them rather than being cropped off behind them. Get it wrong by a few inches and the crest sits exactly level with the top of a headdress, which produces the one photograph nobody can retake.

So we ask for the sitters' seated heights, or a photograph of them seated with a known measurement in frame, and we add the headdress or turban height on top of that. The crest is then set above the total, not above the head. Where a dais is involved we ask its height too, because a chair viewed from below needs more back above the sitter than one viewed level.

Where those figures are not available, we work from the venue's stage dimensions and the photographer's likely position and tell the client the assumption we have made, in writing, before we cut anything.

Frame: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans.

Finish: hand-laid gold, worked into the recesses so the carving reads at distance; silver, ivory, ebonised and natural teak also available.

Back: extra tall and waisted, deep-buttoned, height set from the sitters' seated height plus headdress and dais allowance.

Upholstery: white buttoned leather as photographed; velvet, brocade or fabric alternatives available.

Studs: following the outline of the back and the arm fronts.

Arms: upholstered with carved scroll terminals.

Apron and legs: carved apron over cabriole legs with scrolled feet.

Joinery: mortise and tenon, corner-blocked at the seat rails.

Pairs: available as mirrored partners carved together.

Dimensions: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

White upholstery makes packing a matter of cleanliness as much as protection. The chair is wrapped first in a fresh, soft, non-abrasive sheet so nothing that has touched another job comes into contact with the white surfaces.

The tall crest is boxed at the top, with the pierced carving supported inside shaped foam rather than bridged, so no load reaches the fretwork. The studded outline is covered with a continuous foam strip along its full run.

Arm scrolls, leg knees and feet are each padded individually, then the whole chair takes a bubble layer, a corrugated shell and an outer crate cut to its full height. Corner protection goes on at every load-bearing point.

Unpack from the top down after cutting the strapping, and keep the inner sheet on until the chair is in position - it is the simplest way to keep white upholstery clean through the last few metres of handling.

Delivery is free anywhere in India and the chair is guaranteed to arrive dent-free. If anything is wrong when the crate is opened, putting it right is our cost, and that is committed before you order.

Event dates are fixed, so tell us the date at enquiry and we schedule production backward from it with margin built in. Production begins when the upholstery, the finish and the measurements are confirmed in writing, and we share the timeline immediately.

Dispatch follows full curing of the hand-laid finish. Tracking is shared as soon as the crate leaves us and our team agrees the delivery slot with you directly rather than through an automated message.

Open the crate with the delivery team present and check the chair. For venue deliveries, send us the stage access, doorway and lift measurements at the order stage and we build a back height that clears the route to the dais.

The solid teak frame and joinery are warranted for 20 years. An event chair is moved, lifted and transported far more than a domestic one, so the structural warranty matters here more than usual, and it is the same 20 years we give on every chair we build.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it, resting on teak's own oils rather than on an applied treatment. It is issued in writing with the chair.

Both documents are tied to your order and handed over on delivery, so the record stays with you. If a covered fault appears, send photographs and we arrange repair or replacement of the affected part.

Upholstery, studs and the hand-laid gold are wearing surfaces and are handled separately from the structure. We re-cover and re-gild our own chairs at any age, and because your specification is on file, a chair used for an event can be re-covered later in a domestic cloth and matched to a new room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

Tall enough that the crest sits above the sitters' heads including any headdress or turban, with a margin visible in a photograph. We work from your seated heights and the dais height rather than from a standard figure, and confirm it in writing before cutting.

Yes. A pair is carved together as mirrored partners and upholstered from the same batch, so the two match exactly. Ordering them together is what makes that precision possible.

Yes, and many clients do. It works as a single statement seat afterwards, and we re-cover our own chairs at any age, so it can be moved from a white event upholstery to something quieter for a room.

No. White leather is photographed here because it reads reliably under stage lighting, but the chair takes velvet, brocade or any fabric you send us, in any colour, with the buttoning and stud detail adjusted to suit.

Tell us the event date at enquiry. The chair is made to order, so we schedule production backward from that date with margin built in and share the timeline as soon as your specification is confirmed.

20 years on the solid teak frame and joinery, plus a lifetime warranty against termite damage. Both are issued in writing with the chair and tied to your order - useful for a chair that will be transported and stored between events.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, including to venues. Send us the stage access, doorway and lift measurements at the order stage and we build a back height that clears the route to the dais.

Yes. Every image is a photograph of the actual chair we built, not a computer rendering, so the gold, the buttoning and the studded outline are shown exactly as they came out of the workshop.
