A wooden side table in solid teak, hand-carved by master Indian artisans with a silver-leafed frame and natural teak panels, made entirely to your measurements.

It is a good piece for a room that has plenty of colour already. The bare panels keep it grounded and warm, while the silver frame gives it enough presence to hold its own beside a large sofa or a bed.

The recessed top panel with a raised moulded border is a practical detail - a glass or a book set down stays inside the edge.

Every element of the two-tone scheme is a choice: leave the panels bare as shown, finish them to match the frame, use gold leaf instead of silver, or run the whole table in one tone.

Photographs on this page show the actual piece our artisans produced, not a computer render.

The hardest part of a two-finish piece is not either finish. It is the line where they meet.

Silver leaf laid up to a bare wood panel has to stop somewhere, and if it stops on a flat surface the boundary will always be slightly ragged - leaf is thinner than paper and it tears rather than cuts, so no amount of care produces a truly clean edge in the middle of an open field.

So the edge is built before the finish is even considered. Where the silvered frame meets the natural panel, our craftsmen cut a quirk - a narrow, deliberate groove running the whole way around the opening. The leaf is laid up to and into that groove, and the groove's own shadow line hides the last fraction of a millimetre where the leaf terminates. The eye reads a crisp boundary because the geometry gives it one.

The sequence matters just as much. The panel is finished first and protected, then the ground for the leaf is laid, then the leaf, then the burnishing - because gilding materials will stain bare teak permanently if they reach it, and there is no way to sand a stain out of a panel that is already the finished surface.

It is a detail nobody is meant to notice. Noticing it means it has gone wrong.

Material: Solid teak throughout - top, panels, frame, apron and legs. No veneer over engineered board.

Construction: Silver-leafed carved frame with a cut quirk at every panel boundary, bare teak panels under a clear finish, hand-carved floral knee clusters worked across the leg-to-case joint, pierced scroll apron with carved shell, recessed top panel within a moulded border.

Finish: Silver leaf with natural teak panels, as photographed. Gold or champagne leaf, painted tones, or a single finish throughout can be specified.

Storage: Built as shown without drawers. A frieze drawer or an under-shelf can be added.

Dimensions: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Available: Singly or as a matched pair.

Made: Handcrafted Indian luxury, produced to order by master Indian artisans.

This table has two surfaces that need opposite care, and both get it. The silvered frame is covered first in a soft, lint-free wrap laid on without tension, because burnished leaf marks under pressure. The bare teak panels are protected against anything that could leave a residue on an unsealed-looking surface.

Shaped foam then goes over the whole piece, bridging across the pierced apron so nothing presses into the openwork - it is the most fragile element and sits low where it is easily caught.

The carved floral clusters at the knees project furthest on the legs and are guarded individually, and each splayed leg is sleeved along its length with a rigid guard at the foot. Splayed legs stand beyond the footprint of the case and meet doorframes and trolleys first.

The recessed top panel is padded within its moulded border so nothing bears directly on the raised edge.

The table then goes into a rigid outer carton braced internally. Ordered as a pair, each is crated separately. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed.

Delivery is free anywhere in India, with no distance surcharge and nothing added at the end. Metros, tier-two cities and smaller towns are served on the same terms, and a pair ships on the same free terms as a single table.

Production begins once your dimensions, finish pairing, carving depth and any added drawer or shelf are confirmed in writing. A two-finish piece has to be worked in a fixed sequence - panels finished and protected first, then the ground, then the leaf - so we give you an honest timeline and keep you updated as it progresses.

We dispatch through carriers experienced with leafed and carved furniture, and send tracking details as soon as it leaves us.

On arrival our team brings the table in, positions it, checks it stands true on your floor and removes all packaging. Dent-free arrival is guaranteed - if anything is not right, tell us and we will resolve it.

The solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty - the case, the panels, the top, the pierced apron and every leg joint.

The apron is worth noting. Because it is pierced through rather than solid, it is doing less structural work than a closed rail would, so the joints between the legs and the case are cut deeper and tighter to compensate - and the carved floral clusters at each knee add real timber section exactly where a splayed leg meets the carcass.

The legs themselves are carved from solid stock with the curve following the grain, which is what allows them to splay outward and still carry the case for decades.

The teak carries a lifetime warranty against termite damage for as long as you own the piece, from the oils in the timber - which on a table with bare panels you can see for yourself.

If anything covered needs attention, send us your order details and photographs and our artisans will handle the repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this product.

No - it is all solid teak. The frame is silver-leafed and the panels are left bare under a clear finish, so the contrast comes from the finish rather than from two materials.

Yes. Leaf the whole table for a single-tone piece, paint the panels a colour you send us, or keep them natural as shown. The carved form stays identical and only the scheme changes.

Yes. Gold or champagne leaf, or a painted finish on the frame. All are hand-applied over a prepared ground and burnished by hand rather than sprayed.

As shown it is built without one. We can add a frieze drawer, or an open shelf below, without changing the proportions - tell us before production and we will build it in.

The moulded border stands slightly proud of the panel, so a glass, a book or a tray set down stays inside the edge rather than sliding off. It is a small detail that matters on a low table beside a sofa.

Yes, cut through the solid teak by hand rather than worked as surface relief. It is what lets daylight pass under the table and keeps a wide piece looking light on the floor.

Yes. A pair is built in the same run from the same stock, so the panel grain and the carving match between them, and each is crated separately. Both ship on the same free delivery terms.

A 20-year warranty on the solid teak frame and joinery, including the splayed leg joints and the pierced apron, plus a lifetime warranty against termite damage on the teak. Send your order details and photographs if anything needs attention.
