A white rocking chair in hand-carved solid teak with buttoned pearl upholstery and studded trim. The pale finish makes it a good fit for a nursery, a light bedroom, a sunroom or a covered verandah - it lifts a room rather than weighting it, which is unusual for a piece carved this deeply.

Master Indian artisans cut every element by hand from seasoned solid teak: the swan-neck arms, the feathered wing panels, the scrollwork on the rocker fronts and the moulded arch of the back. The white finish is then built up in hand-applied coats so the carving keeps its crisp edges instead of softening under a thick film.

The chair is made to order. Choose the exact white, choose the upholstery, and set every dimension. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed in writing before production. It comes with a 20-year warranty on the teak frame and joinery, a lifetime warranty against termite damage, free PAN-India delivery with guaranteed dent-free arrival, and multi-layer protective packaging.

The line of small domed studs running around the edge of the back on this chair is set by hand, one stud at a time, and the spacing is decided before the first one goes in.

The trouble is that the border it follows is curved, and it has to end where it began. If the upholsterer simply starts at one corner and works round at a fixed spacing, the last few studs arrive at the finish line either crowded together or with an awkward gap - and that is exactly where the eye lands, because it is the point where the two ends meet.

So the length of the whole run is measured first, then divided into equal steps that come out whole. The spacing that results is rarely a round number, and it changes slightly from chair to chair because every chair is built to its own size. A marking gauge is set to that figure and walked round the border, marking each position before any stud is driven.

After that it is patience. Each stud is set with a soft-faced hammer, upright, seated to the same depth as its neighbours - because one stud sitting a fraction proud will catch light differently and stand out from the whole line. It is a long, quiet job whose entire purpose is to look effortless.

Frame: solid teak throughout, hand-carved by master Indian artisans, with traditional joinery at every junction.

Back: tall arched moulded frame with a carved crest and a deep-buttoned upholstered panel.

Arms: carved swan-neck arms with forward-curling heads as hand rests.

Side panels: carved spread wings between the arms and the seat.

Seat: buttoned pad on a shaped seat frame, with studded trim along the front edge.

Rockers: matched shaped bows cut from a single template, carved with scrollwork and turned at the ends.

Upholstery: pearl-toned buttoned upholstery with studded borders, as photographed. Any fabric or leather can be used instead, including your own material.

Finish: hand-applied ivory-white, built in coats so the carving stays sharp. Any white or pale tone can be matched, and gilded or plain polished teak finishes are also available.

Size: custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

Photography: images on this page are of the actual product, not renders.

A pale finish shows every mark, and a rocking chair will not sit flat in a box - so this one is cradled rather than simply wrapped.

Shaped foam blocks fit under and around the rocker bows so the chair sits still and its weight is spread instead of resting on two narrow curves. The swan heads, the wing panels, the carved crest, the scrolled rocker fronts and the turned ends each get an individual foam collar. A soft non-abrasive layer covers the whole white finish first, so nothing coarse ever touches it.

Corrugated panels build a rigid shell around all of that, and the outer carton is edge-reinforced so stacked weight in transit is carried by the packaging. The buttoned upholstery and the studded borders get a breathable cover that keeps dust out without pressing on the studs or trapping moisture. Everything lifts away by hand, with no blades needed anywhere near the finish.

Delivery is free anywhere in India. No zone pricing, no distance surcharge, no freight added at checkout - the chair costs the same delivered to Bhopal as to Bengaluru.

We guarantee dent-free arrival. The chair leaves in multi-layer protective packaging, travels with handlers briefed on carved and hand-finished furniture, and is checked at every transfer point. If anything is not right when you unwrap it, tell us and we make it right - the guarantee is ours to honour rather than the transporter's.

Since every chair is made to order, production begins once your finish, upholstery and measurements are confirmed in writing. You get a timeline then, updates as the chair moves through carving, finishing and upholstery, and a dispatch note with an expected delivery window so you can plan for the day it arrives.

The solid teak frame and joinery are covered for 20 years. On a rocking chair that means the rockers, the joints where the legs meet them, the seat frame and the arched back frame - everything that takes the load of the motion. If a joint works loose or a member fails in those twenty years, we repair or replace it.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs alongside it with no end date. Teak's own oils are the reason termites leave it alone, and our seasoning and finishing process is built to preserve them, so we stand behind the timber for as long as the chair is yours.

These terms are possible because the chair is made from start to finish in our own workshop by the master Indian artisans who build every piece we sell, from timber we season ourselves. Nothing is subcontracted, so nothing is unknown to us. The warranty registers automatically with your order - your order number opens a claim whenever you need one.
