This antique white bed pairs a glazed white carved frame in solid teak with cream crystal-buttoned upholstery, and comes as a set with two matching bedside chests.

The glaze depth is a choice. As shown it is subtle - just enough to lift the carving. We can take it further for a more visibly aged effect, or leave it out entirely for a clean modern white. Tell us how strong you want it and we will prepare a sample panel for your approval before finishing the bed.

Fabric is open too: any material and colour, with crystal, fabric-covered or metal buttons.

Sizes are built to your room - king, queen, double or a custom width, with headboard height set so the plumed crest sits well below your ceiling. Custom sizes are made to order and final measurements are confirmed with you in writing before production begins.

This is handcrafted Indian luxury from master Indian artisans, carved and upholstered by hand. Solid teak frame and joinery carry a 20-year warranty, the bed is covered for life against termite damage, and delivery anywhere in India is free with guaranteed dent-free arrival.

An antique white finish is a two-stage process pretending to be one. The white goes on first and is allowed to cure. Then a thin tinted glaze is brushed over the whole carved surface and immediately wiped back off the raised areas, so it stays only in the hollows - exactly where dust and wax would have settled on a piece that had genuinely been in a house for a century.

The wiping is the skill. Take too much off and the carving loses its definition; leave too much and the piece looks dirty rather than aged. It also has to be done at speed, before the glaze sets, across an entire carved headboard - which is why it is the stage of finishing that our master Indian artisans hand to their most experienced people.

The point of it is not to fake age. It is that deep carving needs shadow to be read, and a pure white surface under bright Indian daylight gives very little. The glaze puts the shadow back in, so the work someone spent weeks doing is actually visible.

Material: Solid teak throughout, including headboard, footboard, rails and the bedside chests.

Headboard: Wide buttoned panel with crystal studs, tiered pierced carving above rising to a plumed crest, carved wings sweeping to spiral shoulders.

Footboard: Large carved acanthus and scroll motif standing proud at the centre, buttoned panel to each side, carved corner uprights.

Upholstery: Shown in cream, and made in any fabric and colour you choose.

Buttons: Crystal studs as shown, or fabric-covered or metal buttons.

Finish: Antique white with tinted glaze in the recesses; glaze depth adjustable from subtle to strongly aged, or omitted for a clean white.

Bedside chests: Carved swag fronts, moulded tops, cabriole legs. Included as shown, available in any quantity.

Sizes: Custom sizes made to order - final measurements confirmed in writing before production.

A glazed white finish shows scuffing more readily than a polished dark one, so every finished surface is covered first in a soft non-abrasive layer laid on loose, with nothing sliding across it at any stage.

The plumed crest at the top of the headboard is the highest and most delicate element and is packed in a rigid foam shell of its own, and the tiered pierced sections beneath it are foam-faced from both faces so nothing can flex them.

The large carved motif at the centre of the footboard stands proud of both panels and is given a dedicated shell so packing bears on it nowhere.

Buttoned panels are bagged in breathable covers and the crystal buttons kept free of pressure. Spiral shoulders, corner uprights and cabriole legs are collared individually. Rails are bundled, fittings pouched, chests packed with drawers secured. Everything is crated together with handling instructions. Every photograph here is of the actual bed before packing - not a render.

Delivery is free anywhere in India and included in the price you are quoted, with no freight, packing or handling charge added later.

Production begins once your size, fabric, finish and glaze depth are confirmed in writing. We prepare a finish sample for your approval first, then give you a realistic timeline and send photographs of your own bed as the carving is cut, the white laid and the glaze worked in.

On arrival the bed is carried in and assembled in your bedroom: headboard and footboard joined to the rails, everything levelled to your floor, the finish and upholstery inspected and cleaned down, and the bedside chests placed where you want them. We guarantee dent-free arrival, and if anything is not right when you see it, tell us and we will make it right.

The solid teak frame and joinery are covered for 20 years - the headboard structure carrying the tiered crest, the footboard and its centre motif, the side rails, the corner uprights and every joint between them.

A lifetime warranty against termite damage runs with it for as long as the bed is yours, backed by teak's own resistance and set out in writing.

A glazed finish can be renewed exactly as it was first applied, because the technique is repeatable and we record the glaze depth used on your bed along with the rest of its specification. That also means a piece added years later - a dressing table, a wardrobe - can be finished to the same depth rather than approximately matched. Upholstery can be re-covered to the original buttoning grid, and fittings replaced with parts made for your piece. Our own master Indian artisans do the work and explain it beforehand.
